Ross and Evans did a great job closing it out.

The fact that you watched Degrassi makes you suspect

they might as well drop some of this, its just not the same. i suppose if folks are old enough to recall when the brought the dunk contest back in the mid 80s, no comparison now.

Yea even the three point contest is awful. Used to be every man for themselves. Not anymore. Just a laughing stock of a joke. I'm on DVR haven't got to the dunk contest yet but about to start.

Ross sort of dissapoints in the first round, but more than makes up for it in the finals.
Some of the nicest dunks I've seen in a long while honestly.
And Bledsoe's last dunk was sick as fck as well, too bad Evans went through because he had more overall points.

Jordan's best dunks were as good or better than Vince's dunks....

Not for me...no one can touch VC when it comes to dunking

Well Vince is the king when it comes to power dunks. Always thought that belonged to Shawn Kemp. then Vince Carter happened. But I still believe Jordan is the greatest dunker I've ever lived to see. I mean, when Jordan took off, it's as if he was walking through air, walking on water, floating in outer space. Just something so beautiful I never seen when in regards to dunking.

I watch almost everything but point taken. I actually like watching the bad shows to appreciate the good ones.

I admire Jordan in all of his glory, and yes he was a superb dunker on top of being the G.O.A.T., but man, I just cannot and will not place anybody above VC, powerdunks or otherwise. (altough Kemp and Wilkins are quite famous in that category as well)
A great example of not exactly power dunks is his 1st dunk in the 2000 contest, just poetry really. I can't describe a perfect dunk, but that's the smoothest, most elegant and simply incredibile dunk.
The between-the-legs simply killed it.

And who could forget JUMPING OVER A 7 foot center, litteraly. jumping. over.

I vote for a one on one tourney instead of the Dunk contest.

The dunk contests have been let downs for a while (although this was better than they have been for the past couple of years), however even though that's the case it's still the most interesting event apart from the All-star game.

Speaking of one one ones and Jordan. Michael Kidd-Gilcrist admitted that Jordan beat him in 1 on 1 recently.

well...it is "only" MKG, it IS Jordan...and on top of that he was probably too star-struck to even focus :D

still...50 years old and still handling NBA caliber players 1 on 1 :D he's not the GOAT for nothing.

True but I good just see Irvin versus Paul. Durant/Bron/Anthony/Kobe versus each other.

MJ was still 49 and out of shape and although MKG is not known for his offense most nba players are better than you think shooting in 1 on 1s and in practice.

True but I good just see Irvin versus Paul. Durant/Bron/Anthony/Kobe versus each other.

a 1 on 1 tournament would be fun, but they would never do it due to risk of injury, it could get too intense at a point because they wouldn't want to lose and be labeled as "inferior" to the other guy, etc.

I would love to see like a 1 on 1 tournament (8 players - Quarter finals, Semi Finals, Final).

My preferable cast - Melo, LeBron, Durant, Kobe, Irving, Paul, Rondo, Tyreke. (the last 2 might not be the greatest of shooters, but they are way better than most at their position(s) in getting to the rim)

Maybe I should simplify as to why Carter's my choice.

Nobody has ever produced such a performance in a dunk contest, where he had everybody in awe the whole time, and regardless of how good the others' dunks were from the moment he made the 1st dunk everybody already knew who was going to win, they just couldn't wait and see what he would do next.
Jordan and Wilkins were great, but they "thrived off of eachother" and there was really no clear winner, Carter just dominated, and in my honest opinion generaly had the best collection of dunks.
His 1st and the between-the-legs dunks are 2 of my favorite dunk contest dunks ever.

And I have never (nor will I probably ever again) see anybody LITERALLY JUMP OVER AND DUNK ON A 7FOOT+ center DURING THE GAME.
