This is a team whose offense is predicated (for now) on the 3. Novak was the best 3 pt shooter in the league last season. The response to Novak not playing up to his potential shouldn't be to trade him. It should be to make it easier on Novak when he's having trouble getting a good look. Like the occasional screen. Novak just needs a little daylight, there should be an effort to give him some when needed. Once he gets on a roll its hard to shut him down.

And that quote has nothing to do with "fit", he fits fine as there are quite a few low % chuckers on the team.

I'll say he has been doing a little more than just that..Novak is shooting one percentage point better and gives u nothing else...

Hence why they are both being paid below average salary.

Honestly can't think of anything Felton really is doing well at all.

But why are we comparing a starter with a bench player?

But face the facts, the team is winning despite Felton.....very few games are won because of him specifically.

Last time i checked Novak is hitting 43% of his threes, his actual ROLE on the team.

I disagree...I think teams are now making an effort to make sure he doesn't get open looks...I don't think Novak can shoot off screens...I think he has to be stationary...I'm not sure about the daylight thing either...He work a fake taking a step to elude the defender then shooting...He hasn't been knocking those down either...I don't want him traded either...I think we have other options that we should look at...

Felton has had a big role in the team playing good basketball and off to a great start... Where was this type commentary two/three weeks ago??..
Novak is 6'10"...how many boards a game??..2 in 25 min..Nate ran out on him and he couldn't shoot...5'8" on telephone books Nate...

2-3 weeks ago we didn''t have as many guys being injured, so Felton didn't need to shoot as much, but now he does, and his numbers have been dreadful.

Why you so focused on a guy with one of the highest verticals in the league?

The most important thing you need to know when using a screen is knowing how to catch and shoot. I've seen Novak do that plenty of times. I agree that teams are trying to keep Novak in a pen. Doesn't mean that the Knicks can't counter that strategy.

I've seen him catch and shoot as fast as anyone in this league. No I haven't seen anyone give Novak a screen. That's why I'm suggesting they make that part of their game plan. I believe he is good enough to know how to use one.

Yeah Im starting to think that Woodson sometimes uses Novak solely as a decoy and him being able to knock down a three is just a bonus. There were a few times last year when players set off ball screens for him and he knocked down the shot the majority of the time. I dont see how off ball screens can hurt and not just specifically for Novak either.

I think everybody knows Novack can shoot wide open threes, don't need a mix to know that.

Question is what does he do when the defense isn't off balance chasing the ball. What dose he do to create points, fouls or space for he's team mates.

I would look to move him while his value is high, because we have pretty good bench scorer in Copeland.

Well at 43%, there are about 15-20 guys in the NBA who can do the same...One on our team who is shooting 50%...Copeland...

What was it 49/51 split??LOL

Not making it personal with Novack, but he is a very very good three point shooter and that's it.
I'm wonder how much of that irreplaceable "value" is replaced by a very good score like Copeland.

I think over the tough games, when we aren't imposing our offense completely on teams, we are going to see games like last night. 30 minutes of Novack being worthless than 10 minutes of Copeland.

Honestly don't think either player should be anywhere over 15-20 minutes, and once Amare Sheed and Camby come in i think both will see a drop in minutes.

There's no enough sample to gauge Copeland, he can score I'll definitely say that, and he's always ready to play, that's very good.

Does Copeland make Novack expendable?
