I was at the game and Novak wasn't hitting anything. He appeared to become hesitant as the game went on because he was missing so much. If he hit one or two shots the outcome may have been different. The crowd was very into the game and the Knicks.
How much was that a function of people staying close to him versus him being cold...Has he proved to can hit that shot with a defender on him??
He had some open looks. His shot just wasn't falling for him. He also took a couple shots off the dribble. It looks like it could be a nice addition to his game but again they weren't falling. The Knicks played really good d in the second half and Novak had some opportunities where if his shot went down the momentum swing would have been huge. Hopefully it was just a bad night. He got pulled for Copeland when the Knicks had Ray, Melo and Tyson in and the game was still not decided.
Man, seemed like 2 or 3 of Novak's shots were 3/4 of the way down before they popped out. I'm not concerned about Novak's shot, he'll be fine if we can find him looks. Painful to watch him defend the perimeter though...just kept backing up. Jason Richardson just abused us.
Went to the game with my father. He was pointing out during pregame warmups that Kidd was hitting just about every damn shot he took. Attempted 2 shots all game, one of which being a 3 he drilled.
Felt like Woody kept the starters in to feed the Melo-centric crowd. Copeland seemed out of control at times, but guess I can't fault him. Trying to make the team. Meanwhile I'm screaming at Tyson for lazily walking up the court during the 3rd quarter run while a play is well underway! Felton took a few too many shots for my liking in the first half, but loved his intensity on D. I can't wait to see him and Shump in the backcourt together.
Still work to do, but again, PREseason.
