Huh? When was I destroyed? Seems pretty clear cut to me. Amare hasn't been your "Amare" in a couple of years. All I'm asking is Amare step in take a charge, maybe grab a rebound here and there. Is that too much to ask?

he was my Amare just fine in year one with Knicks... obviously the back spasms starting the playoffs were terrible timing and that really sucked but thems the breaks. If Amare gives us the 25/8/50% we got in 78 games in year one how would you feel about that?

He was 55th in the League at .96 Block/per

Just for some perspective, Dwyane Wade averaged 1.29 blocks per game as a shooting guard.

If he gave 25/8/50% and played better team D than he played last year, I'd be ecstatic.

I think the fire extinguisher was rock bottom for Amare, and that we'll see significant improvements in the coming season.

He started the turnaround for this organization... and I'm rooting for him to become a dominant force again.

Knicksfan wrote:Tough crowd, huh? Amare had a pretty rough year last season and still contributed to their success, even if they didn't reach the heights we expected. If one thing can be said about Amare is that he is a prodeful player, so I'm pretty sure this Twitter self campaign holds some truth. Just recently it was said he was training hard and would later work out with "The Dream" so he could develop better post moves on offense and defense.

Listen, is highly unlikely Amare will be traded at this point, and even though he was a mess last season, we can't forget throughout most of his career he's actually been pretty solid and I expect him to have a bounce back season. Lets hope for that and root for hik because anything else will simply not help our goal of actually winning a championship.

And for the first time in a while we may have the pieces to really do it. Amare is one of the most important so lets hope he can be the strong player we need him to be.

yea.. I guess Amare's first year here has been wiped from the record books. You know.. the one where everyone thought he needed Nash to be a good scorer but Amare still put up 25ppg and shot over 50%. The one where Amare led the league in 4th qtr scoring. The one where we went from a 30 win team to a playoff team and relevent.

First half OF YEAR

The guy is turning 30 soon, he no longer is the man. He has to forget about averaging 25-26 pts and focus on getting a double double and playing great help D. Body your man, box out, call out picks etc. Do the little things. Enough talk, enough twitter, just lead by example tough guy.
sacrifice for who? Who on this roster is Amare sacrificing for? Melo? Lin? Who on this roster scores at a better FG%? Chandler.. and thats it.

dumb dumb dumb statement amigo.

Lets see... our PF averages 54% shooting for his career. He scored at over 50% without Nash last year. So lets take shots away from one of the leagues most effecient scorers and give those shots too _____________ (fill in the blank)

By the way, whatever you put on that blank line is the wrong answer. Its a trick!

I wonder how Kobe won all those championships and how he is widely considered one of the best players of all time with a career shooting pct of 46%. HE SUX!!! AMARE IS GREAT!!

Uh ... PHX was not stupid enough to take a chance on his brittle body and I don't anyone else in the NBA was either.

gunsnewing wrote:The point about Amare driving and meeting 2+ defenders in the paint is a fair one because Tyson is in the paint. Camby can step out and clear the lane for Amare. Should be interesting how this comes together. Hopefully Amare & Tyson refine their games. If Tyson somehow develops a 15ft jumper after a decade in the league although it is as unlikely as STAT learning Defense and post moves, the Knicks will be alright. Worst case Camby starts and Tyson backs him up.

But hey Melo is the root of the problem right?!

the problem is simple. One guy scores 25ppg at 54%. The other scores 25ppg at 46%. Who do you want to feature on offense? This is not a trick question.

By the way, when Amare played next to Shaq (cause that guy doesnt clog the lane) he put up 21ppg 8rebs and shot 54%

Wake up people.

AMARE >>>>>>>>> KOBE

The only way the knicks win a championship with Amare is if he plays Eddy Currys role. HAS-BEEN!!
