i hear what ur saying...pietrus or shannon brown (i thought he signed a 4 yr deal last yr) would be great...i just dont want to slow the development of shump (should b back by jan)
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

1. we have three (yes, im including JR cuz i think hell return)
2. most importantly i think it will slow the development of shumpert when he returns
3. we need front court depth...JJ is injury prone and jorts is a minor league player

- id be happy with felton, odom and camby

Shump, JR, and Fields? Shump tore his ACL and won't be back for awhile. Plus, he was a terrible shooter last year. JR might be back, he might not. Fields can't shoot and has been terrible for a year and a half now.

For me, I'm not necessarily looking for a SG to replace the guys we have, I'm looking for guys who can shoot from range. The most obvious spot we upgrade our long-distance shooting is at SG.

Do you think Shannon Brown, Gerald Green or Pietrus might be a possibility?

All 3 are decent options but Green would be the best. Great athlete and knock-down shooter.

Shannon signed a one yea deal with Phx last season i believe, but I don't see any acquisition hindering Shump.

His defense should still be on par whenever he returns, but acquiring someone to hold that spot down helps Shump especially not feeling pressure to come back too soon.

Plus both of those guys are backups, they would at most just have an expanded role til shump gets back.

therefore i vote
1. sign felton to MLE
2. sign odom to LLE
3. sign camby to mini vet...
4. keep everyone else including fields and jr

PG lin/felton
G fields/jr (shump)
C tyson/camby
PF stat/odom
F melo/novak

im not his biggest fan but we need fields for now..

i would be happy with this plan, though i don't think camby comes here for the vet minimum.

We need to add shooters. I think we need to use the mid level on a SG. My order of preference for the mid level is

1. Ray Allen 2. OJ Mayo 3. Belinelli 4. C Lee

and then use the LLE on a PG like Kidd. We will still need to address the big man depth, but i think that would be the only weakness with this group

C Chandler/Harrellson
PF Stoudemire/Jeffries
SF Anthony/Novak/Fields
SG Allen or Mayo/Shumpert (maybe Smith too)
PG Lin/Kidd/rookie

Im with u we need guards. Mayo would love to come here but is he a realistic option.Isnt his qualifying offer 7.5 million. DOnt see it

Nick Young may not be a bad option. I know if the Knicks are not getting Nash then a SG is a must. Id love JR Smith to stay but if he opts out then sorry see ya. Wouldnt he get Bird Rights if he stayed another year. it could benefit him to stay 1 more year with the Knicks. They then could give him a multi year deal.I think he likes it in NY and he is guaranteed playing time.

Nick Young is going to be very pricey I think. Hed be a great fit if we could afford him.

Gerald Green, belinelli & lee are all great options then get kidd & odom and the roster is set to challenge the east. Nash gets $10mil from PHX

Someone please explain the fasnation with a 40 year old PG who average 6 pts and 5 assist last year?
I get it, we don't want to bring in anyone who could possibly compete with Lin and somehow this will make the Knicks better...

Talkin about kidd? Experience to backup Lin for 15mins a game. Will get Amare & Melo the ball in their sweet spots. Has become a very good tough defender at pg in his old age and can come significantly cheaper than Nash. By that I mean under $5mil as opposed to the $10mil nash will get elsewhere.

Then you draft a young pg in the second round to eventually backup Lin. All the while you get Odom and a sv who can shoot and is effecient. Exactly what JR is not. All this as opposed to throwing the entire MLE at one really old player who is do for a career ending injury. Ala throwing the full MLE at jerome james and jared frickin jeffries

And how does that make us better to compete with Miami?

Everyone remembers when he would kill us when he played for the Nets. Unfortunately, they've all seem to forgotten that that was 10 years ago and he's only barely a role player now.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Exactly keyword role player. Unless Nash is coming for the full mle and dolan makea a splash. No one is coming here and overshadowing lin and what he means to new york and the league

kidd and nash are not coming to ny folks...their BLUFFING...this always happens with free agents...remember grant hill from last yr... theyre not coming here at all...kidd wants to stay in Dallas..and nash wants at least $7 mil...yes nash would be great cuz he still has game

id rather be realistic and think of practical PG options: i think we can sign felton for the $3mill MLE

also, we need front court depth...stat and tyson are injury prone...i vote for camby (mini vet) and odom for the LLE

for summer christmas list = felton, camby and odom

Do you think Lin is ready to play on a level of basketball we saw the last week?
