Landry is a role player. JR is a scoring option.
On defense they are comparable.
On offense, JR is far more versatile.

He is a much better off the ball catch-and-shoot type player (which makes him better at playing with Melo). He has better handles and is much more athletic, making him immediately one of our best slashers. He can facilitate an offense with his pnr play.

And his production is less likely to completely disappear in the postseason...

Another element is JR's wild card factor. Once every few games he bombs it from deep (like, 4+ three point makes). Whenever he caught fire in the postseason as a Nugget, which was once a series, they were nearly guaranteed wins.

ugh

smith is a good player and we can definitely use his shooting to stretch the defense, especially when him and novak on the floor at the same time, but at the same time, he's a tough guy to root for.

I totally understand why people are turned off by his antics but I'm sure Denver wasn't complaining when he was going off in the playoffs and they were winning 50+ games. This team on paper has a higher ceiling than Denver too and veterans who will hopefully keep him in line. Denver had lunatics like Chris Anderson and kmart

from the first clip, the thing about being a constant shooting threat in the mind of your opponent, is that your pump becomes FAR more effective when they are closing out. the smallest flinch let's JR explode past the defender and he can accelerate to the basket before the defense can really prepare for it.

In totally unrelated news, the Knicks have petitioned the league to allow for 2 basketballs to be used at the same time on the court.

#3 is wrong he is more like 26 if thise numbers are wrong how do I know you did not make the other stuff up? LOL.

He has spent 2 years with NO and then 5 years with Denver, that makes 7 seasons. Then this season, he played abroad, which means this is his 8th year. He also 27 currently, not 26. So now perhaps your credibility takes a little hit. lol

I continue not to think it is a good idea.

If you continue to not think, how can you have an opinion on the idea either way?

If JR Smith & Baron Davis are added, this is our 10 man rotation

Pg: Lin, B.Davis
Sg: Fields, Shumpert
Sf: Melo, JR Smith
Pf: Amare, Novak
C: Chandler, Jefferies

the rest: TD, Walker, Harrelson, Balkman, Jordan (sorry Bibby)

There can be numerous mixes & matches bc most of the players can play mutiple positions.

I don't see too many weaknesses and the vets will keep attitudes in check.

Or

G: Lin, (Baron Davis with a HUGE question mark) Shumpert as the better remaining ball handler until further notice
G: Fields with the double double, JR Smith on probation - first sign of drama he's outta here
F: Melo, Walker - defense/ Novak - offense
F: Amare - offense, Jeffries - defense, most effective at the four
C: Chandler - stay out of foul trouble big homey, Harrellson brings reserve rebounding and dirty work... any offense is a bonus

once a knick always a knick

I thought someone here had a good idea of putting Melo at the 4 for some stretch and/or putting Amare at the 5. Jorts inside play is not that impressive and is rainbow shot is really decent but lets be real. If your 4 0r 5 is popping form beyond the circle your not in a good way at all.

I think Jorts stays on the bench and JJ gets those minutes. We good from the outside and Jorts around the rim was not very good at all.

Chandler(30)Amare(10) JJ (8)
Amare (20)Melo (10) JJ (10) Novak (8)
Melo (20) Fields (10) JR (8) Shump 10
Fields (15)Jr (20) Shump(13)
Lin (30)(Davis 18)

Bench DNP: TD, Walker, Jorts, Jah Jah Balky and buh bye Bibby.

That's a good way to calculate his age but I like to go the simplier route and go by his date of birth, September 9, 1985. See how easy that is.

Fans are gonna love him like Sprewell he's going to be perfect in Dantoni's run and gun offense it's crazy how deep the Knicks are now and if Baron comes back to play back up PG The Knicks will have the deepest team in the NBA , funny considering how 2 weeks ago they had no depth lol

Alright, so we are cutting Balkman to sign JR Swish.

He makes his debut Sunday versus the Mavs.
