I just saw we included the 2nd rounders from GS?!
Man, I was finally feeling good that NY wasn't the laughingstock of the trade community anymore. A pretty girl smiled at us and we went out and bought her a diamond ring.

I'm not sure I like this trade at all. Happy we kept Fields and Amar'e, but those are like the only critical pieces we kept. Why didn't we just toss Amar'e in too? Ha.

Ya, I'm not too happy with it.

I'm sure once we all see Melo in blue and orange, and he starts performing, it'll help ease the lost...but man, all that leverage and this is the trade we got?

It all depends on what happens at the PG position. Whether Billups can run the D'Antoni O and/or whether we can get Paul or Deron for the future. Amare and Melo are good but they will need someone to feed them the rock efficiently.

Yeah, basically.

I think we might look back on this as our Kevin Garnet trade.

Celtics gave up Al Jefferson, Gomes, Telfair, multiple draft picks etc and Celts fans were actually upset at the price and thought they didn't have any depth left. Think they like the KG trade now?

This trade makes us CONTENDERS for 4-5 years. CONTENDERS.

for the second round?

We traded a lot, but at the end of the day we made the right deal. We will need to add depth and another center, but that process should be much smoother than this was for us.

nonsense. If I'm an elite PG, where would I like to sign in UFA? A team with two of the best offensive forwards in the league? Or the current team, with a bunch of role players? Or just stay where you are?

The team is a .500 team. Chauncey Billups isn't as good as Felton now, but he can hit a deep shot. Melo and Amar'e give a shot at a first round upset. Would you want to play the Knicks?

I am happy

If I'm an opposing team, I'm looking at our frontcourt and drooling. Then I'm looking at Amar'e and thinking "Wow, he gets into foul woes easily anyway, now it's going to be easier. We are going to get demolished defensively.

How is this different than it before the All Star break? Our front court was soft and is soft. We can improve that moving forward. e got significantly better in other areas.

Come on. Carmelo is good, but he's not in Garnett's league. Let's get real. Carmelo is barely in the top 15 in the NBA, IMHO.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Oh yeah? How do you explain this with no capspace, draft pics and with a possibility of wiping out the MLE after the new CBA?

I dont like to be vulgar but this was an a n a l r a p i n g of a trade. This trade has brought vomit to my mouth.Wer got played as hard as you can get played. if we satyed pact--does anyone think melo would ebg aNet to be frank and honest. We gave them everything they wanted and more.

for this you deserve shaq at 23 years old. Not a wing player who scores 25 points. Anyone who is old enough knows that bernad King was far above carmelo--and we were just a fair team with many good additional pieces.

every few years brings real downers I don't like/condone violence nor would I want to pick on a guy who is smaller and older then me--but I would love to jack up Dolan one time up against the wall and remind him that its not just his team.

depends on the matchups and depends how they fine-tune the roster.

also, before this trade we were not getting out of the first round.

how else do you propose getting past miami/boston/orlando?

stars wins in this league.

we have two legit top ten players now.

i'd say that makes us perennial contenders.

2nd round this year..get more pieces and we advance further next year..Steps...with the previous roster we were a 1st round punching bag. Felton has really dropped off last month, Gallo & Chandler are inconsistent city. You guys will be laughing at yourselves in a year thinking this is a bad trade.

Thats what I'm hoping. This becomes a major success if we get Deron or Paul. If not we made a huge mistake in giving up Felton who's def. a tier below but a very good PG.

We can fill in the rest of the gaps and already have good roleplayers like Fields, Douglas, Shawne, Turiaf.

I think this is a fantastic chess move. And Fields isn't a forward right now. This is awesome.

Look at the packages given up for KG and Shaq. More expensive than this. The Kobe to the Bulls deal fell apart becue the Bulls wanted to keep Luol Deeng. I bet the Bulls are glad they kept Luol Deng

How can we possibily improve it now? At least we could hope AR and Mozgov would develop. Now we don't have that, and both and very large upsides.... which we traded AR for NOTHING! NOTHING!!

Yeah but the C's had enough left to also get Ray Allen. We need our Ray Allen. You can say Amare+Felton is close to KG and Pierce but we still need and Allen and have to hope there's a Rondo potential on the roster.

Its interesting Fields, Douglas, Rautins etc. weren't traded. Young, cheap talent. Even Williams or Walker to some degree.

The fact that Fields wasn't traded gives me hope that Donnie still has some influence back there....I hope...

Yeah. I would've waited. There was no way Melo was signing somewhere else unless Denver S+T'd him to another team out of spite, like the Bulls or Lakers. Otherwise, he was totally ours. The price was too steep and we know we got played, but we let it happen anyway. Disappointed, for sure.

I'll be excited once I see this team in the playoffs, but yikes, we have some major depth problems. I don't like our bench all that much after this trade and I think we're very weak at center now.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Sorry but I may be in minority but F' Walsh. Take a stand and don't give up too much. Lets bring back Isiah and really F up this team.

For like 6 years Dolan lets Isiah do what he wants and dictate every deal.... and the first moment Donnie works a significant trade and he decides to poke his head in and take over. Unreal.

Checkmate, Isiah. Checkmate.

You win.

I lose.

I will announce my resignation from this franchise the same day as Walsh.

Assuming that's what happened, yeah, I'm very disappointed if that is the case. Might as well bring Isiah back as the GM. Stephon Marbury can play backup point. Maybe we can get Zach Randolph back too. Hrm...

We haven't had a team with that kind of chemistry in about 12 years and we gave it up in one fell swoop.

Chicago has a MVP-type PG and defense and depth.

OKC has 2 elite scorers and depth, picks, and cap space.

LAL has depth, defense, MVP guy.
