MDA works in mysterious ways.

yeah, the mindboggling ways of MDA... Mozgov is looking good too... i guess MDA deserves all the credit for making these guys wait their turn, eh?

haha i was wondering is it that or were these guys capable all along and he was just stubborn?

either way, they each desperately needed a good game and gave us one, so now its up to MDA to lengthen the rotation, give STAT especially but also turiaf a bit of a break, and develop our young 7 footers!!

Cmon man, AR hasnt played in the style he has tonight all season. We dont need a 6"11 TD, we do need what AR gave us in 7 minutes today. To complain about him not getting more burn tonight is fair enough, but to say he should have gotten more burn before now based on something he did for the first time all season tonight is unfair.

AR has only seen sporadic minutes in garbage blowout losses in the past few months... not sure what you expected to see out of him in that type of role... tonight he's getting the first meaningful action he's seen since the first few weeks of the season & he was able to contribute a little... i'm not saying he's having a monster game but he's certainly showing he's capable of grabbing boards if given the opportunity, something several of us have been saying he could be doing all along... we've seen MDA play Shawne Williams at the C position at times in weeks leading up to tonight's game out of his obvious reluctance to give AR any playing time... in several games this year we've been killed on the boards due to our lack of size & yet now because of absolute necessity AR is seeing some minutes & you see he's able to contribute... why is that not fair to say he should have been utilized more this season based on the way he's played tonight?

Mozgov has looked much better tonight & i readily admit i didn't think he would be ready to contribute this year based on what i saw out of him earlier in the season... but i've seen what AR could do last year in games he put up some very respectable statlines... that's why myself & several others have wondered all year why this kid couldn't see any run, especially on a team lacking in size like ours... i will concede that AR hasn't played the way MDA has wanted him to play in the chances he has gotten this season, but my contention is those chances have been few & very far between... i don't think it's fair to base any kind of judgement at all on the garbage minutes of play he's seen leading up to this game.

Okay, when do we see coaching brillance in putting someone else on Gordon

Maybe. Sitting may be exactly what they needed. I trust MDA more then I trust TMS.

i never claimed i know more about developing talent than MDA... just curious to me when guys who could't see the light of day off the bench all of a sudden get a chance to play due to injuries & suspensions & are able to contribute... if not for the suspension of Williams & Wilson's injury neither 1 of these guys would have seen the light of day off the bench tonight... but yeah, i guess MDA deserves all the credit for Williams getting suspended too... it was all a part of his master plan... gotcha.

Sorry, cheap shot.

But I really feel if MDA can get consistency out of either one of these guys by the end of the season he did a great job. One has never been consistent the other is rookie who looked lost at the beginning of the year.

Stubborn is a big part of it!! Why has Randolph gotten no time in the 2nd half??

Hey, Im totally with you on AR's performance tonight. Ive been very impressed. But its not about the stats. I know the minutes have been limited, but there is a vast and noticable difference between AR's understandnig of his role tonight and every other game he played. Previously, AR would recieve the pass behind the three point line and either try and force a cut-pass into the paint, or drive to 18 feet and pull up. If thats how he wants to play, we can all agree that we'd rather see him on the bench. Tonight, he recieved the ball behind the three point line and moved the ball, spread the play and boxed out like a maniac. All the things we all said hed be good at and all the things he has neglected in every other game hes played for the Knicks. He last played 11 games ago. I watch the game. He tried to jump over a guy from the low block, took another shot, bricked it, didnt box out and didnt look like hed learnt his lesson.

Tonight, it looks like he has. I dont know if it needed 45 games to get him to this stage, but i do know that 11 games ago, he was still being a stubborn chucker.

I like AR tonight, and im sure MDA did too. It wouldnt surprise me to see him next game for spot minutes and maybe build from there.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?

if he can get Timo to play the way he's playing tonight the rest of the way, i will give him all the props in the world cuz that kid looked completely lost at the beginning of the season, i wasn't even sure he was NBA worthy talent... AR looked discombobulated in every game he played in too, but it was never a question to me whether or not he could play at this level... he's looked a lot better in prior games he's played in GS than anything i've seen out of him this year, including tonight's game... i personally don't view his problem as being as much an unwillingness to conform his game to this system as it is he's struggled to find his niche on this team early on & MDA lost complete faith in him... after that it was pretty clear he wouldn't see the light of day off the bench unless some extreme circumstances were to occur, like tonight for example... i think given a chance in meaningful action during consistent run, AR's talent will shine through & eventually you all will see why DW was so high on him to begin with... but i guess that's not likely to happen once Williams & Wilson are back in the rotation.

he looked great in the Worlds and in summer league. It's a new league, new culture. I mean, try getting groceries as a 9 foot Russian monster. I didn't think it would take this long, nor did I think he'd have a 23/14 game this season, but he should be a meaningful rotation player. He was GREAT in the Worlds and that means something
