read the rgm bulls board game-thread if you want to read bulls fans feuding with themselves that knicks are the real deal. warms the heart. weee baaacckkkk.

bulls fan--

Yeah the Knicks have beat us twice this season and I'm the one who's delirious in saying they're on the same level as us.

You got people in the thread acting like this is the 2006-07 Knicks and ignoring the MVP candidate and Top-10 PG they have on their team this season.

If anything, I think this game shows that the Knicks desperately need more bigs. Boozer, Thomas, Deng, and that rookie they have, will be the team we will need to compete against in the future.

man I don't wanna hear about no injured player when they still have Boozer. This was a legit win period. We aren't a great rebounding team anyway. That's not why we win. This was as good a win as the wins we got when Turiaf was down. The Bulls have won games undermanned. That's just what every team goes thru. I'm sure the Bulls will be better with Noah, but I still think we're on their level regardless. Hopefully by then we'll either add or develop another big to help us inside.

When will all of the fans finally give this team credit for being a top team? Aside from the Heat game when have we ever looked outmatched? We've gone toe to toe with everybody.

So obvious isn't it? We played very well yesterday--don't wanna take anything away from them but one glaring need is still clear as day: there's gotta be a big guy in there next to STAT to bang a little & collect some rebounds. No way around it..Of course I'd prefer a guy with a little offensive skill in close as well, someone we can go to down low for a bucket esp. when Amar'e's resting and not in the game..That would be ideal---that's also gonna cost us more than we may be willing or able to spend right now..I wouldn't wanna see them blow their load on a middle-of-the-road type NBA player and then not have enough assets to pull the trigger on something big they may have had their eye on for sometime..For the time being (and if the cost proves to be too high right now for option 1), I'll settle for a low-cost dirty-work big to at least rebound and eat space next to Amar'e..Start there---cut Mason Jr & go get the best D-League or low-cost FA C/PF you can find..There's a couple of guys out there that can actually play both ends. TMS brought up a good guy in Jeff Adrien yesterday--ideally I'd like a little more size as in a legit C type but with all this Carl Landry talk, why not try out a guy like Adrien first??? Similar players and you know the price is right for Adrien whereas it may not be for a guy like Landry right now..A guy like Adrien can play in this league--he just needs a team to give him a shot..What if he's destined to have the same type of career as a Carl Landry??? I don't think that's a stretch..

Fortunate? Gtho (get the heck out), Knicks had 24 turnovers and still won. Rose dropped 25 with 8 dimes 7 boards and 6 steals...if that's uncharacteristic then what does he average on the season, 40/10/10 and 8 steals?

seriously, do we really need to carry 2 SG's on our bench that aren't seeing playing time anyway? Roger Mason Jr. should be cut, there's no reason for us to carry him on the bench when we have TD, Rautins & Bill Walker in reserve roles & Wilson can also play the position if you need him to... that's plenty enough depth at the 2G slot... Adrien is just 1 possibility (& i think the MSG crowd would love that guy personally)... there's gotta be a ton of other guys playing in the D Leagues we could bring in to at least take a look at in practice that might add some depth to our frontcourt that would only cost us a minimum salary contract at most... i see absolutely zero downside to this type of acquisition.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I like Adrien. Barron is a guy I think you have to consider because he knows the system. He played poorly for Phoenix though. I think the Suns own the contract of Gani Lawal- else he'd be a guy I'd consider.

I don't think any of these guys give us what we need. Perhaps some of the things but not all. Mozgov is what I want to happen but not quite there. A healthy Turiaf makes this team good. Real good. But not great.

There are many player they say just never got the shot in the right situation on the right team. Take Turky-Glue. He likes just fine on Orlando what I can tell so far. He didn't fit in Toronto.

Has to be able to body up Bynum or a Howard..don't have to win all the time just compete and tire them.
Has to be able to catch the ball and finish ...or you don't get to touch.
Has to be a good rebounder and a fair shot blocker.

Find that guy we compete when done.

Saw these interesting points from ESPN on the Knicks win against the bulls:

• The New York Knicks utilized Mike D'Antoni's "seven seconds or less" style of offense style very effectively in their win over the Chicago Bulls. The Knicks shot 64 percent from the field and were 7-for-12 from 3-point range on possessions lasting seven seconds or less.

The Knicks also prevented Derrick Rose from having a difference-maker sort of game on the offensive end. The Knicks blocked four of his shots in the first quarter and blocked six of his shots for the game (21.5 percent of his shots overall). Rose entered the game only having 7.1 percent of his field goal attempts blocked. The extra blocks helped contribute to a bad shooting day from in-close for Rose. He was 5-for-18 from 10 feet or closer.
