We need another PG for depth--you could see that today maybe 1 guard 1 big

yeah I don't get that +/- thing Fields fouled Williams twice to send him to the line for 3 each time. so without those he's a plus 23?

you know what... as much as I am disappointed that Fields gave Williams 6 free FTs, he's a rook so I can deal with it if he corrects it over time, which I think he will.

But I wasn't happy with TD going under a screen late in the game to give Holiday a wide open 3 point shot at top of key.

I am not happy that Wilson will lead a fast break and make a bad decision with the ball even though he has Felton right next to him on the court and can give up the ball for a better ball handler and decision maker.

Not happy that Felton and TD will miss Amare on 3 straight PnRs and then try to force one in traffic with Turiaf. They either still dont trust Amare or dont trust themselves to make the pass.

Not happy that the guys came out with zero energy. Looks like half the team was out late last night.

Papabear Says

Let's remember Philly always had our number and until we get that killer instinc like Boston and Los Angeles we will keep the worst team in the league in the game always. Also remember this is New York the City never sleeps. It will take special players to survive in New York. Some of them were probably out all last night partying. This game was a big setback. Like I said shooting those 3s all the time wont get you a win all the time. We have no pure shooters and our defence fell short.

the pick and roll timing with amar'e is horrible.

gallo disapears again.

and i'm worried about felton's back - he seemed less aggressive in the second half, particularly when he was forced to come in on short rest after toney's 5th foul.

bad loss, but hopefully it's a learning experience.

again.. when did he dissapear last, and when did he dissapear this game?

I felt this was a prototypical trap game. I hate early Sunday games to begin with, but against a losing team like this you could see the Knicks intensity wasn't there from the start. It was just a bad letdown from the team. They let the Sixers hand around and gave them hope they could win and they did.

Gallo didn't disappear, he hit a huge 3 to keep us in the game and didn't do anything after because Douglas, Felton, and Chandler were chucking up shots without getting anyone involved.

I lost count of how many times those guys just chucked up shots without having the offense get in at least one pass.

This game got real ugly real fast in the 4th.

I thought we had it but this game serves as a reminder that even though we have a team full of potential, we still have a long way to go. The Knicks should have won this game.

Toney Douglas is one of my favs but I'd fine him for giving up on that play in the 4th. Just a killer.

Until that second go to player is here we will have to deal with let downs like this very often. Players on the Knicks strike very little fear in other teams.

Or may be we should try actually going to our first go to player. But generally speaking, I agree with you.

not only that but the Knicks are like the 6th youngest team out there. And only have 3 returning players (for the most part). Chill and enjoy the rebuilding process.

this is why i don't get too excited or too down about this team after a stretch of games where they play great or play horrible... i think the halfway point to the season will be a good teller of where we're at as a franchise.

I actually think this loss is a good thing for the Knicks. I think they were overconfident and felt they could just roll the ball out and get a when. They had no sense of urgency and then when Philly stepped up the defensive intensity they couldn't adjust. This is a mental thing that they have to learn to avoid. Never relax! They clearly didn't have an edge to their game. They played hard at times, but nothing like they've been playing. I never expected 82 games of intensity from them, but this is something that if they could somehow change their mental approach, maybe they can have fewer games like this and really have a great season. It's up to them. There are a lot of shaky teams in the East this year that they could take advantage of.

No loss is a good loss. Maybe it was a wake-up call if the Knicks got too overconfident after beating Chicago on the road and routing the Wizards, but this loss is worse than the Portland one cause we lost at home to one of the bottom 5 teams in the league, and a division rival.

We may not have had the same 9-point cushion as we did in Portland, but how we lost was almost the exact same. We just couldn't execute in the last 5 minutes where Philly went on a 16-5 run and amped up their defensive intensity. We also came out flat in the 1st quarter which gave them a good lead to begin with.

Yea, I think some forget how young the knicks are..we have 3 guys in the starting lineup 24 years of age and younger...
