The other thing no one is thinking about is what if AI plays well (which I think he will). AI is better than any point guard Lebron has played with, even Mo Williams. If we could trade Curry, we would have the ability to add two max FAs and resign AI for about $3 million. AI, TD, Lebron, Bosh, Darko is a solid team.

Forgot about Gallo, who we probably could move to PF and let Bosh play center (or vice versa if Gallo continues to get bigger(he is 6'11" now and adding weight)).

Are we supposed to sign all of Leon Rose's clients to contracts?

Would LeBron choose the (now capped out Knicks because Leon Rose got all his clients signed here chewing up our cap space) Knicks and take their MLE because we treated his agent's other clients nicely?

I.....don't think so. We're not obligated to do such things.

A delusional ball hog who has lost several steps is the best LeBron has played with? I beg to differ....

But yo.....Imagine next year? What if Lebron does sign??? Iverson is a nice guy to have on a team with Lebron. Iverson and Lebron could easily play together....that would also attract other dudes to follow.

Iverson chucking 35 shots a game and making 9 is attractive to LeBron?

In what universe?

Did no one watch Denver with Iverson?
Did no one watch Detroit with Iverson?
Did no one witness the Memphis mess with Iverson?
Does no one know it's not 2000 and our team isn't comprised of 14 high IQ defensive monsters willing to do all the dirty work not caring Iverson is gunning away every play?

Unreal.......

If the issue is whether AI is better than Billups, then Billups proved to be a better PG. But that is not the issue. The only thing AI wants is to start and finish games. Well, I see no problem with him doing that here. Give him that, and I don't think you will have too many problems out of him. I would sit him down and tell him, we will let you start, but we expect you to be the pg and make sure everyone gets their shots. He can handle it.

It's a no brainer that Billups makes any team better than Iverson can. Not even a debate.

So we have to cater to Iverson and it'll be okay?

No practice: "Cause they know what I can do I dont gotta practice."
Start him and let him do everything he wants: "Cause I know what I can do."

Then what? We watch our youth regress and pick up garbage habits from this perennial loser?

Allen Iverson has been a DISASTER since he left Philly and the only reason he was good in Philly was because a once in a lifetime roster was put together where you had 14 two-way high IQ hard working team oriented defenders who could make good of his gunning away.

Iverson is a has been...and has been for years. This guy is NOT:

*Going to teach our kids.
*Going to obey the coach and practice hard with the team.
*Be a leader or mentor.
*Dig us out of a 1-9 hole.

What gives with this infatuation with garbage over the hill malcontents on this forum? Iverson, JWill, Jackson, Tinsley... I mean, what is going through the average Knick fan's mind these days?

Newsflash: WE WERENT SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD THIS YEAR.

Never said we cater to AI in all respects. I merely said that AI wants to start, and if that is all he wants, we have a starting PG spot wide-open for him. If you look at his history, this guy is not a problem player. No one ever accused AI of not playing hard. Since we play in a run and gun system, it seems perfect for his mentality. This dude had one season where he averaged like 8 assists, so he can handle passing the rock. I think you sit down with him and say, hey we will let you start but we expect you to the PG for this team and get everyone involved. Then, you just straight cut Duhon and let TD back up AI. AI, Hughes, Gallo, Lee, and Curry is our starting squad.

You are probably right. But if he does not sign AI and this team continues to loss at a 1-9 or 1-8 pace, the fans are going to revolt and start calling for his head. If I pay money to go the games, I want to see a team that can compete. Don't care about the playoffs or a championship. I am just talking about compete for one game. If you cannot put a team together that can do at least that, then you are not giving me my money's worth.

It is ludicrous that someone says he will stunt anyone's growth or that Gallinari should shoot 35 times--that is as stupid as it gets. Duhon IS TERRIBLE--he is the number 1 reason we sck. You can just accept to sck--even in rebuilding--it's not like we need to lose for lottery position. Nate has NOT played well either

My thinking when Curry is ready 9 man rotation.

PG AI
SG TD
F Gallinari
F Lee
C Jefferies[until Curry comes back]
6n Harrington
7 Hughes
8 Hill[more minutes]
9 Nate

NO MORE Lee at C--he has to be moved to PF to concentrate on rebounding and to play a bigger/longer guy at 5--play Jefferies Curry Darko and Hill at C.

Problem with Lee at PF is that it screws up the offense. You can't spread the floor as much. Maybe if you play Jeffries at the 5 you'd be ok.

Will be interesting to see what they do with Curry. In theory they can't have Curry and Lee out there at the same time and still play SSOL.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

AI and Melo carried that team to 50 wins. AI avg'd 26 pts and 7 assists. Nene missed the whole season and Martin was in and out of the line-up.

Billups could not do what AI did for that team minus those 2. As we seen in the first few games in Detroit b4 he go traded, if there is noone there to rebound his stupid ass 5-6 contested momentum breaking 3's he really stinks and his team looks awful.

WHAT?! Sure, 50 wins, 26 poitns, 7 assists, WOW GREAT THINGS.

But they sucked and flamed out when it mattered most. Billups instantly righted the ship and now the Nuggets are CONTENDERS IN THE WEST AND MELO IS IN MVP RUNNING.

Anyone defending AI, at all, should be in a mental hospital.

AI should go to Orlando and help Dwight get back to the Finals. With Jameer out for significant time once again I can see the Magic making the call

Most of us knew they'd suck this season. Most of us didn't figure the start would be so bad, but simply confirms what we believed anyway right?

Only thing I'm looking forward to is seeing how our youths develop.

Otherwise WE ARE REBUILDING! Rebuilding teams don't usually put out consistently entertaining product. Why are you expecting that? But the idea is that you go through this now to get to the other side.

Also, if you are paying money to see games, you might just want to not do that. I sure can't tell by attendance records that the MSG fans are in some revolt. As long as New York is the business, entertainment & tourism capital it is (knock on wood), Dolan is going to get his gate receipts.

So the "Fire Walsh" and "Fire Mike" chants, signs & t-shirts start up? I wouldn't do it because I don't see how constant front office turnover makes us a winning ballclub. But to each "fan" his own. Hazards of working in the Garden I guess.

why are u guys wasting ur time talking about 50 win teams & bringing up Chauncey Billups comparisons? we're talking about AI being a monumental upgrade over Chris freakin' Duhon on a 1-9 team & only having to invest in a 1 year rental contract at minimal dollars for God's sakes!... there is no debate... bring AI in, it's a no brainer & a half.
