no disrespect, but some of us are doing things that represent the worst stereotype of new york sports fans...
the hateration is silly...
breen and clyde keep talking about how we're playing good defense, we're winning, etc. but no...
let's find the exact thing to harp on, and then keep harping on it.
sheesh

No. I'm telling it like it is. Breen and Clyde get paid by MSG. I don't get paid to watch games. My view is more objective.
Why are YOU are more objective, even though you've openly stated you claim Chandler is your new whipping boy after Lee, who you still deride constantly.
Simply because one looks to be constantly negative does not necessarily imply objectivity.
Breen has criticized the Knicks ALL OF THE TIME for bad defense, as has Clyde.
anyway, I know you won't change your mind, but at least for folks reading this...go watch the game and tell me if the Knicks have not played better defense than we have before.
If you are honest with yourself, and not inclined to finding a way to be negative about the team, you know that we have, and some guys have shown things, while others have raised concerns.
Objective means to be balanced and fair, as much as possible.
I admit Chandler hasn't been what I've hoped, and we have problems in several areas, especially outside shooting, but we are competing in a game that is competitive, even if pre-season. You can see that. We are not a good team, i am under no illusions, but we have some things, and for a team like us it should be about development in many areas.
As a team, individual players, defensive intensity, winning attitude, etc.
I see that tonight, which contrasts to much of what folks have stated before.
Is that going to be consistent?
perhaps not, but to not look at things holistically is to ignore important facts and details that represent a genuine interest in objectivity.

How have I been constantly negative? I've been defending Gallinari and Walsh/D'Antoni here the entire time against half the forum. I call things the way I see it, that's all. I harped on Lee and still do because he deserves it. His defense is terrible. Now Chandler will feel that until he starts playing like an NBA player and not Tim Thomas-lite.
I don't care about what you're talking about. What am I going to praise? Good defense? Okay, good. They're playing BETTER defense. So it's no longer putrid. For now, at least. But guess what? Chucking 35 3's with the game still early in the 4th is pathetic and kills your team. You can play shut down D but if you can't play as a team on the other end of the court - work the ball around and drive it into the lane, etc. - then that is all for naught. So yes, good for them playing D. Now they can't do both things right at the same time. Chucking shots isn't an offense. This falls a bit on D'Antoni too. Where is his system? Is this it? Have Nate, Al and the crew throw up 3's every game and hope they go in? This doesn't get me excited and isn't worthy of praise from me.
So yes, I am objective. Very objective. i am just very blunt on my views. Maybe even a little over the top. But I don't pull any punches. If I see crap, I call crap. If I see great play, I call great play. And it can be from Lee or Chandler or anyone else. If they play well, they get praise. If they don't, then well, you know what happens.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
