Odom is a better, more versatile 2 way player than Lee. On this roster, he would have put up 20 and 12 with at least 4 assists and 1.5 blocks.

Why would the Grizzlies sign and trade for a guy that they know whose team isn't willing to go past a certain amount. That's just bad business

Odom has never avg'd 20 even when he was the go to guy for the Heat. Its years later and he doesn't play with that alpha dog mentality anymore. God's offense isn't going to change that. He and Lee are in the same tier right now. Odom is higher in the tier because of the range on his jumper out to 3.

Ariza is 2 tiers below both.

yes.. I am thinking 4 years $32mm goes something like 7,8,9,10 where as $9-$10 goes like 10,11,12,13,14 (5 years $60mm) which is crap. Big difference no?

Because Walsh could match it and trade Lee elsewhere. Walsh probably wouldn't even need Arthur or a pick, as long as he got that 10mil exception which has no effect on Memphis then that could easily go down.

Neither had Al Harrington before he got here. If you want to say 18/12/4, fine. I was just giving estimated stats.

An NBA source I spoke to on Tuesday said that both Odom and Ariza would likely command multiyear contracts worth about $6 million to $8 million per year.

Basically that means the Lakers will need to offer more than the mid-level exception to keep both of them, but the idea that either could get $9 million to $10 million in this economy is highly unrealistic.

why do you propose an escalating deal? 6 years $50 mil gets it done...if you agree on the total, then you can structure the deal with least amount of cap hit to 2010. and anything after 2010 doesn't matter b/c the knicks will go over the cap after that season.

Harrington is a scorer. Odom likes to facilitate. David Lee could average 18 12 and 4 if they ran more of the O thru him vs standing there setting 70 screens a night for Duhon.
