After a few years on the chatboards it's about time a came to the realization that we have a fan base that clearly thinks the coaches win games, and not the players.

If that is the case, ur in another realm...recognize nuance...

Let me guess....

Today's key word is "nuance"?

yes...

His offense is terrible
He's not coaching offense
He doesn't coach defense
His system doesn't work

that there is some genuine, 100% whole grained nuance.

i still don't get how MDA can be questioned for having a system that's unproven in winning championships & yet people consistently harp over not hiring a head coach who hasn't even had any experience coaching in the NBA at all, much less developing any kind of system that leads to winning basketball.

D'Antoni troubles me. His answer to this losing streak is not buckling down on the defensive end, improving shot selection or taking care of the ball. His answer is to run more. I would expect more out of a quality coach than that. This is the time to evaluate a coach, not so much when everything is going perfect. That's just my opinion, so don't get bent out of shape you guys.

the time to evaluate a coach is after u get him the players he wants to play in his system... right now is the time to evaluate these players we have & figure out who stays & who goes... first thing's first.

I am starting to agree with Isola on this point. How long does it take you to see what a player can do and can't do. Sounds like someone is milking it a bit. Fine you still trying to figure out if Jeffries can shoot but I also think it the time to see if Nash, Amare and Marion didn't make D'Antoni as was discussed before the season. Everyone is on an evaluation period as far as I am concern. So far the only making progress is Walsh with his cap relief trades.
I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

D'Antoni has already decided who can do what. He may have a few questions but in general he knows who can do waht. But what can he do about it. He can't change the roster today, it's going to take time. All he can do is put the Wilson, Lee's and Nates of the world in differetn situations and see how they handle it. Nobody is concerned about Jeffries and Q and TT.

As for Nash, Amare and Marion making D'Antoni. Of course they did. Every team that has 60 wins in a season has great players on it. Where is this magical team that wins titles with average players. Most of them have all-stars and hall of fame players. That's how you win titles. Bad teams have bad players. Good teams have good players and great teams have great players. Why discredit D'Antoni? The same reason why people discredit Phil Jackson? Who's left? Who in this league is actually a good caoch? LB? He won in detroit without "great" players. But we ran him out of town too because he couldn't turn our sorry roster into a winner.

He won in Phoenix but not because of him, because of the players.

He's losing in NY, not becuase of the players but because of him.

Are we really being fair and having true analysis or are we angry because our team is losing and once again need an individual to point to? Someone to blame. A scapegoat. Typical NY Knicks slop.

I'm having flashbacks to the LB year. This is the exact reason that I was called a Larry lover 3 years ago. I seem to be be one of the few that understand that it ain't the coach, it's the players.

This is the Dick and Jane version of how to win basketball games. So simple, so true, yet so hard for some to grasp.

this thread has taken a crazy tangent. i'm just asking why the guy can't run a few different plays for the team, that's all.

he's waiting to implement his 7 seconds or less low post offense when Curry gets back.

It's obviously Bip's fault that this thread has gone askew.

Please ban him now before he gets to 9999 posts.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

I understood your initial inquiry and agreed but in order for coach to be protected some came at you and grouped others in a way where they felt the questioning isn't fair or unjustified.

Instead of saying "Pringles Offense Is Terrible" to avoid offending anyone maybe you should have said, "Pringles Offensive Adjustments Game-to-Game Is Wonderful"

I can't speak for MIke but I know that when Calhoun had a dumb team, he would dumb his playbook down. He'd call the same plays over and over again. When guys were able to run the plays without thinking he would start to add more. I think LB tried the same thing.

You should be able to get to 10k in a couple of days at this rate. Just stick with your "It's not the coach, it's the players" routine.
