Posted by Ira: Knicks teams have been doing that for the longest, even during the Starks/Ewing days... they always seem to play up to the level of their competition... in recent years they've obviously been a ton more inconsistent w/that but for the most part everytime this team rises up to play great basketball, it's often against the tougher teams in the NBA like DET, SA, UTA, BOS, LA, etc. After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Great game!
Anytime you can hold Garnett to 6 and 9, you're doing something right. Chandler and Lee both did a very good job containing him. Chandler has been fantastic the past few games, and to see him take it to Boston like that was terrific. There were a few times tonight where the offense was absolutely stagnant and decided to allow the 1 on 1, but otherwise D'Antoni coached a great game. The interior D tonight was MUCH improved, especially after watching Rondo bend us over for uncontested layup after uncontested layup in Boston. However we did get lucky outside with Ray Ray going ice cold tonight. If he even hits a couple of those wide open 3's, this is a completely different game. I'm definitely proud of our Knicks tonight. At least for tonight, we can tell Boston to go **** themselves! |
