Kenny Andersen shot 37% from 3 in his two year college career. I don't think Kenny is half as smart as Curry and I doubt he could take Davidson to within seconds of a final four by himself. Kenny Andersen couldnt get GT past game 1 in his two years. Davidson beat Gtown gonzaga wisconsin and lost to the championship team Kansas in the final seconds]. They have been to the big dance every year curry was at the school.

There are definitely people who know more about the history of basketball at all levels than I do, but none of them is named "BRIGGS" and posts hot and cold at UK!

Can you even remember what you had for Dinner BRIGGS? Kenny Anderson went to the final Four as a freshman, in a different era when college stars actually played 3-4 years. Georgia Tech Lost to a UNLV team that qualifies for one of the top 5 ever, the eventual champion who blew out Duke in the championship game with Bobby Hurley and Laettner.

The next year Anderson carried G-Tech to round 2 of the NCAA's by his effort alone, and that wasn't in the watered-down 2000's of college basketball.
Nice to have a selective memory but there are those who probably watch and know more about the history and game of basketball than you.

When Curry is playing the Boobie Gibson role, let's see who has selective memory, Mr. Marcus Williams is the best PG in the draft.

Anderson may not be as smart as Curry, and I doubt Curry is as smart a player as John Bagley or Abdul-Shamsid Dean. What does that mean? Nothing.

Steph Curry is a lot more instinctive on the basketball court than his dad or Hurley or Macon or Kenny Anderson. His court vision is simply insane.

Would you take a guaranteed Kenny Anderson in the middle of the first round? I would. What's the point of this discussion?

There are going to be talents galore whenever we pick.

Any of the UConn team I'd take.
Johnny Flynn - yes please
Dujan Summers - well thank you sir

I'd love to be scouting this draft. I think you have a better shot at hitting than not.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Yeah for real. I remember Macon, Hurley and Anderson in college. All were better in college than Stephon Curry, as far as PG skills go. He'll be a good outside shooter coming off the bench somewhere. A better shooting Delonte West.

I don't really remember Macon, Hurley or Anderson taking a school like Davidson anywhere during their college careers. Curry's court vision and instincts will be apparent soon enough.

Salim was a good shooter, Curry is a great shooter with a surprising array of offensive skills and the ability to make those around him better.

Johnny Newman took Richmond to the tourney, twice, in the era when guys like Patrick Ewing played 4 years. Wally Szczerbiak led Miami Ohio to the sweet 16 including a 43 point performance. Newman was a good NBA player as is Szczerbiak. Curry might be a good NBA player. My point is that there is nothing to make this guy out to be a can't miss NBA star.

The difference between Curry and Newman/Szczerbiak is that they have/had unquestionable NBA bodies to go along with their skills. And they are good NBA players, not great ones like BRIGGS thinks Curry is. Guys comparing Curry to Chris Paul and Deron Williams? Holy Smoke! It's not even fair to Curry!

Here is a good comparison for you: Curry and Bob Sura. Bob Sura is better overall and has the better NBA body too.

I think Curry will show you some this year, cause what I've seen so far has reminded me of CP but with insane shooting range.

Maybe Curry is the next Joe Dumars. Dumars came out of McNeese state. Unheralded like crazy. Short for a shooting guard too. But Dumars still had the body and his defense was insane...

...What's the point of this discussion?...

Good question. I'm guessing, in short: Stephen Curry, lotto pick or first round pick? The longer version might be: Stephen Curry or Jessica Alba? It's hard to tell.

Hey I think that Curry is the 2nd pick in the draft. I hear all of the hype about Mullens and Derozen but were talking Mullens had 1 point against Bowling green and Derozen was like the 6th best player on the floor against Seton Hall. OJ Mayo was great from day 1----

the guys in the top 4 will be Thabeet Curry Harden Griffin--guys who have distinct skills with high performance and impact.

Sorry, I missed the part where I have a selective memory and and you are telling me how Kenny Anderson, heralded as the best PG of his time as a prep and a college star didn't take Georgia tech past round 1 when he went to the final four as a freshman.

Please tell me again how much I don't know about the history of the game. I'm waiting. Did you selectively forget to address that?

Kenny Anderson in his Freshman year led Georgia Tech to the Final Four. Losing to UNLV (go Runnin Rebels!).

Bobby Hurley led Duke to 3 Final Fours and won back to back NCAA Championships.

Mark Macon took Temple to the Sweet 16 as a Freshman and then to the Final 8 as a Junior.

So there ya go. Maybe now you can remember.

The guy Im watching on Espn 2 @ MSG has star potential and is the lock for number 1. There is clear separation between Blake Griffin and anyone else.

Just got done watching Oklahoma beat UAB at the Garden. Great game. It was really a lot closer that the final score - UAB was right there, neck and neck the whole way, 'till about 3 minutes to go then they let it slip away. UAB got very good play outta their seniors tonight - Robert Vaden had some bad luck down the stretch with a few 3s that went in & out that would've kept it close.

Blake Griffin's a monster and he had another strong game tonight. As good as he is, two things he needs to work on - (1) I'd like to see him challenge more shots on the defensive end - he's really not much of a shot-blocker (smaller guys come in and score on him and he doesn't offer too much resistance which shouldn't happen as frequently as it does) AND (2) I'd like to see him develop a little bit of a mid-range game - the jumpshot's a big dimension to Boozer's game and I don't see that from Griffin yet. Right now he reminds me of a more mobile Kevin Love down low with an even better handle but without the perimeter game. Right now he's the best player in America, but he could be better. How scary is that???
