Honestly, Zach is all stats. He missed 10 shots tonight. He shots 43% from the field. For a big man that's terrible. Like I said in another thread, he is the Ricky Davis of Power Forwards. A better comparison would be a bulkier Antoine Walker who can rebound better.

Zach played great, but when the game was hanging in the balance, Dirk was the guy who took over. I think that is what separates Zach from the numbers he has notoriously put up.

If you want to blame this loss on one player, it has to be Jamal.

What was he, 5 for 19? Thats terrible.

Shaggy had the quietest 26 and 9 in a half I've ever seen.

i have to respectfully disagree.

it was obvious he was killing us in the first half.

anyone who keeps this nonsense about nowitzki being soft of not showing up at the end of games should re-watch tonight's game.

we had no way to stop him. he carried his team to victory, while we couldn't get our stuff together.

josh howard showed up in the second half too.

the lack of a steph shows up when the prayers stop dropping. nothing mda has in his mustache will change the guards being horrible at attacking the paint. however, living and dying by the deep ball has the knicks plus .500 so far

...on to the next game

moving him off the ball accomplished the same goals when Lenny was coaching.

its way too early to tell who won

Dude,

Seriously, go out and get yourself some Viagra, get the crowbar out and pry open that wallet. Head to the bar and throw a few dollars down, however much it hurts to do that, and find some drunken lush who is too hammered to realize what a bitter old fart you are and lay some pipe. Come on back with a big old smile on your face and try and think of just one positive thing to say about this team.

I have to go back and watch it again, but how the heck did Richardson wind up with the shot with the game on the line in regulation?

In any case, he needs to be traded. You need to sell high on the guy. Keeping him and risking yourself being unable to move his gigantic contract is a big risk.
sure... I have no beef with selling Zach high. How high are you talking? Knicks are terrible this year without him. He plays more minutes than any other frontcourt player on this team, we are 6-4 and he's a top 5 rebounder and a top 20 scorer. Hard to call those stats 'meaningless' no? If we were 1-7 ok, who cares.. but the Knicks (weak sched fair enough) are winning games. Hard to call the contributions of their most productive player meaningless.

Only knock on Zach's game right now is too many jumpers. He's playing like an all star right now.

I would love to trade him for an expiring contract and young upcomging player but someone GOOD, with all star waiting to happen. 20/12 frontcourt players dont grow on trees, bad contract or no

It's actually pretty easy to argue that Zach's states are meaningless. Here's an argument: he shoots a low percentage, which means that his points come about inefficiently, and he plays no defense, so his opposite number scores against us.

I don't think it gets any higher than this. As mark stated, he is tremendously inefficient. Has he contributed to victories? Sure. But he isn't the sole reason we are winning and to say that if you get rid of him that we're the worst team in the league is a stretch. The guy is not that good. His stats hide his deficiencies. Really, it's the same Zach as last year except now he's playing within an offense(for the most part) and not taking contested shots with 3 people on him. He still shoots a low percentage and still stinks at defense. He's a good low post player but he also gets too shot-happy from the outside.

The point is that you are not going to get much better playing-wise or stats-wise out of Zach right now. If you have the opportunity to trade him at the deadline, you have to do it. I just don't think Walsh will, especially if we are near 8th seed contention.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
