Is anybody else annoyed greatly by that ollay ollay crap, that they had in the backround?

Besides that, the Knicks had their ups and downs. We didn't shoot that great and our selection was pretty bad, but Zach and Jamal carried us. I'm feeling more and more comfortable with those two as time goes.

Knicks need to find a decent shooter to play Q's minutes and a big defender/rebounder to play Malik's minutes. Neither has to be a great player- just be able to fill those roles. If they can get that, they should make a run to the playoffs. Can this combo be obtained by dealing Eddy?

I am not sure how much either Z-Bo and Jamal carried the Knicks as much as they got themselves out of the mess they put the team in the 2nd half. Both guys were pretty much blackholes in the 2nd half and everyone else just stood around watching.

Can someone check when the last time was when we were +3 in the win column?

2000-2001 I believe. Year that we blew a 2-1 lead over the Craptors in the playoffs cause Spree failed to convert in the final minutes of game 4 and then we somehow let JYD look like a superstar in game 5.

Yeah I was. Why was it played at a Knick game?

As to the game...blowing a 30 point lead isn't good. Outlasting a garbage team isn't good. Getting the win? Come tomorrow it won't matter who it came against I suppose.

6-3. Yet, I still expect 2-5 the rest of the month to finish at 8-8 which would still be a whole lot better than anything we've done since 2003.

The last time the knicks were 3 games over was when the Nets were coming to the garden and an Infamous quote was born.

6-3. Nice

big numbers by zach. His numbers were bigger than his game 29/19 is monster, but he was playing like an idiot in that third quarter

Another big game for jamal

Duhon more than solid

Wilson should get more shots

Q and malik need to be shot.

I will take 6-3 regardless of who we beat..

It bothered me that they let the Thunder get close but right now its not about the comebacks that opposing teams make but wins the Knicks rack up. Lets see how the Knicks move on from this win and do against the Mavs.

The stars seem to be aligning for the Knicks, Celtics lose a home game. Can you imagine if the Knicks keep close to the Celtic for the entire season for top dawg of the division. That would be absolute fun.

This the answer to your question along with another tidbit, that the last time, we started 6-3, we went to the finals.
The Knicks are three games over .500 for the first time in nearly four years (they were 16-13 on Dec. 29, 2004). They have not gone 6-3 to open a season since the lockout season of 1999.

Yeahhhhh... a win is a win, come tomorrow, but being it's still tonight (well, it's actually tomorrow, but I'll ignore that)

How the FUCK does this team let a 30 point lead dwindle to 7? With a chance for it to drop to 5 or 4 MULTIPLE times?

What happened to DO what GOT you the LEAD?

Why did we go 1-1, like Isiah's Knicks, from about 5 minutes left in the 3rd until the game ended?

Thank GOD we had enough of a lead to allow for that to WORK - in being - eventually - enough of the 1-1 standstill offense would hit enough shots to hold on?

That is NOT what we want to do. You could see Mike was PISSED at this. Yet, they kept going out and doing it.

These are pros. I don't want to hear that they were TIRED cause if they were then this is going nowhere.

The 76ers came back from 26 down to beat the Pacers 94-92. The circumstances were different and the 76ers, though they haven't played well so far, aren't as bad as the Thunder, but the point is these kind of games happen once in a while. Some have to agree that they were afraid the Knicks just didn't show up today and lost to OKC, which we know has happened in the last seasons. Im glad this time was different.

Im happy they won today and the fact that they regrouped and contained a team that had nothing to lose once they hit rock bottom trailing by 30. We all would've liked another blowout, but Im happy they won and Im happy they got that scare so they don't forget that a team like them can't call it a game leading by whatever. They are still a work in progress and with no superstar they have to rely on good team play. They forgot that in the second half but in the end came back and closed the door for the other team, which is nice to see.

Cos, chillll...

I'm scared to read the cons...

mike d said this is a work in progress, and is right that teams that go up big 'it's only human,' especially for teams like the knicks who have been cellar dwellers for so long, to give it up. he said it's "something to work on."

we did get the lead...and win.

hello we're 6-3, last year we won 23 games...we've already won over 25% of the games we won last season, and i'm pretty sure 25% of the season has not passed.

we ain't gonna be world beaters, but the team is really showing something different than the past, no?

this is not isiah's team, but the players that remain are still here. the progress is light years ahead of what most of us thought, even at this point.

gotta go and have fun now...so i'll just leave it at that...

So just got back home. It was a good night. Thunder suck ass, that's why I went to see the game. I knew it was a sure-win. The cutting down to 7 surprised me a bit but I didn't think the Thunder were good enough to come back and win it.

A few things: Crawford may have scored points but he again forced too many shots. Randolph must get the quietest double-doubles in the league. Quentin Richardson sucks penis. Wilson needs to get more touches and be more aggressive. Malik Blose. I wish Gallinari was healthy. Don't care about anyone else.

Oh, and I went out to a strip club with a friend after. No lap dances tonight($80 for 15 min? Not in this economy lol) so yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. 'Twas a good night.

Any time you establish a lead very early in an NBA game you are vulnerable to a run- that is true of the great teams as well. At least the Knicks closed out when they needed too. I'm sure they'll get reamed out by Coach D for letting up late third/early 4th and getting away from playing team ball.

Ah, let them enjoy the win. When was the last time we had a thirty point lead and managed to win? These dudes are not used to leads leave alone winning. It took us 6 years of Isiah's best to get us to ths point it wont be fixed in 6 games. As long as they keep winning the rest will fall in place.

Yeah, I know, I was just infuriated to see "Isiah's idiot 1-1 ballhogging standaround chucker and-1 Knicks" show up for the final 17 minutes of the game and nearly blow the lead to one of the worst teams in the entire history of the league.

Ok, maybe a bit melodramatic, but if we faced any other number of teams in the same scenerio they likely convert the final few shots the Blunder missed - and we lose the game.

What this does to me is it signals that although the team is clearly playing better - there is still that pesky and well known ceiling for this roster always standing in our way. Playing their minds out this is still at best a .500 team. Loaded with "talent", playing "well", it has some thinking once again that it's a core we can build around and "we just need a shotblocker to help Zach's lack of defense" or "we just need to upgrade the SF" and...then what? What again? "Playoff bound, baby! Go KNICKS!"

Well, it's false hope, and last night's collapse absolutely dictated that.

So, despite 6-3, despite holding on to the game, it's still a stark reminder that no matter what transpires this is NOT a core you build a solid winning team on.

I hope nobody is blinded by 6-3 to think otherwise. Pretty cushy schedule up until now. Another team, the Mavs, have been atrocious and beating them won't be like beating the 2 year ago Mavs. From here it gets tougher and I think reality will set in.

8-8 end of November I gather and that's an epic turnaround but what I don't see it as something to BUILD upon. I think it's the peak this roster holds.

To me it's back to wondering what can be done and when to build an ACTUAL contending team - not a PRETENDING team that finally, admittedly, seems to bury teams they should for a change. Just make no mistake, against bonafide contenders, we're toast. Dallas might not have it in them to show us as much but Boston will floor us.

Short term "victory" being 6-3 but long term reality knowing they will not be a 51-31 team come the end of the season. Never was, never will, and no Camby, Sean Williams, Bellineli, Al Harrington, or 09 draft pick is going to change that.

/doom and gloom rant

that's understandable but old habits are hard to break sometimes... this is still a big learning process for all of these guys... what counts is they got the W & showed continued comfort playing the team ball style of game.
