It looks like my first to 65 is spot on.

to be fair, San Antonio has 80 pts right now and i said first to 80!

LOL, but it was tied at 64 and the Spurs broke it open.

Good news?:

Popovich: Spurs Are Horrible Defensively
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich can't believe how badly his team has played on defense at the start of the 2008-09 season.

"If we don't play good defense, it doesn't matter if we score or not," said Popovich. "We're not going to score 110 points a game, so we have to keep people in the 80s or low 90s for wins. That's how we've done it every year."

San Antonio, which is 1-4 for the first time in Popovich's 11-plus seasons, is allowing opponents to score 105.5 points per game.

"Even if Manu [Ginobili] and Tony [Parker] were healthy, we can't continue to play the defense we have been," Tim Duncan said. "We're going to try to get back to the old Spurs ways, where we keep the games in the 80s."

this was actually horrible news for the knicks - Pop was challenging his guys to up the defensive intensity, probably because he didn't wanna lose to D'Antoni's new look knicks.

I think D'Antoni was right to try to keep the expecations lowered for this team. We played pretty well and got some nice breaks to get that 4-2 record, but make no mistake, this team is still very much flawed. There are going to be nights like this throughout the season just like there will be games when we play very well and impress.

I applaud you Nate, nice jump kick on Bowen. Give him some of his own medicine. If you can't win this take them out.

Can we just punch him in the face instead?

Everybody here knows that, but when you have sucked for so much, you can't help but feel optimistic about a nice start. They could come back to win this game and it would make me a happy fan. But not blind, this is a work in process!

Bowen needs a nice slam to the back of his heal area. Medicine brothers , medicine!

That was my first challenge to them. I still want to see a Z-Bo knee to Duncan's groin.

I'm so ****ing sick of Bruce Bowen. He's not a good player, he's pure **** and he's lighting us up.

The Spurs are on "closer" mode. We need a run, the defense has to get some stops and some steals.

I've been happy as anyone that we started off 4-2. However, I think we're setting ourselves for disappointment if we start to think that out of nowhere, this same group of guys has become a playoff team (which a lot of fans were proclaiming after the 4-2 start foolishly).

The one great thing about this game is that REALLY shows our flaws.

1. Lack of a penetrating PG
2. Lack of Shotblocking presence
3. Lack of a really good shooter
4. Lack of a player a with some cahones

Now we obviously have known this stuff for a while but I think it's great that D'Antoni and Walsh can see it first hand.

btw, listening to Gus on the radio is very annoying

his voice gets raised every 5 seconds and he makes it seem like we're about to do something to get back in the game when in reality, we are just taking the ball over the midcourt line...

damn you Gus for getting my hopes up

I would say yes but the constant is that this is like another D'Antoni and Pop matchup.
