Allanfan, thanks for the update. It's true that it's mostly fluff, but as you pointed out some of the stuff is interesting. The thing that interests me most is Lee's jumper. If he can ever get that to work in an actual game, he becomes a much better player. It seemed like he was improving his shot toward the end of last season, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

For a 1st blog after the team has come together, I thought it was pretty good. You know it's always positive at this point in the season. I kind of like the freeness of speech. He writes like he does his post game interviews. He's just a straight shooting no nonsense kind of guy from what I perceive. He seems to be just writing without fear of DOLAN jumping down his throat for talking about what's happening in practice.

It will get interesting during the year when the games start and there's a patch of trouble. Until then I wouldn't expect much different than this.

Things I liked to hear:

Lee hitting jumpers with more confidence, even taking 3's!!!

Ewing Jr. doing well and at least hitting some shots. We know he's gonna take some developing, but from what i've read he's further along than Balkman is.

H2O looking better. I really do hope he can stick. I think his presence could be a positive one. You can tell that Jamal likes having him there and wants to lean on him for help.

THings i didn't like to hear:

Gallo still being sore.

Eddy sounding like this is a bit much for him. I know he's never the most conditioned player and this will be a complete change of style for him, but he better use this time wisely and push hard. I don't want any excuses when the season starts. There's more than enough time to get adjusted to the pace and his role.

I think it's interesting because we are starved for information. But there's little that I didn't expect him to say. He's pretty good at telling you what you want to hear. I know at this point all is optimistic, that's fine. Just doesn't make for a very exciting, insightful or anything but predictable post.

Hopefully it will get more exciting as the year goes on and Jamal will get a little more "honest" with his assessments and not just play the crowd

Zach Randolph: Zach loves to play and he's been scoring and rebounding, doing his thing. Him and Eddy have had some nice match-ups. They look better on opposite teams…(hahahah, just playing! I knew that would get a rise outta you guys!) I don't know what's gonna happen with all the trade talk and everything, but its good to see that, either way, he's not letting it affect him.

this was hilarious.

Steph (not there)
Big Game
Malik

Wasn't Craw one of the players most vocally upset with the Marbury fiasco early last season?

Fluf shmuff...

Geeze you guys are cynical...

What do we expect him to say?

"No one improved, we suck. I say tank the season now!"

I mean feeling excited and hopeful is part of what every team in professional sports tends to feel now, no?

Is it fluff?

Don't be so quick to say that just yet because we haven't seen any of what he's writing about. Is it plausible that he's exaggerating? Of course, but it is worth noting, and we have no way of really comparing his own comments to observation at this point.

I find it cool that he puts it up there, as it could also come back to hurt the team by raising expectations or levels of hope. Some of us have probably learned as a defense mechansim to avoid the pain of hope that one might feel, so I can empathize with that, but let's see if what is said holds true.

No, it's not cool. He says the same crap every year and always has a positive spin on everything. The Knicks can be 0-81 and on the final game of the season the Knicks will win a game and he'll be like "we've had a tough year this year and whatnot but I think it was good to get this victory so we can come out ready next year." Crawford may be a nice guy and all but his "everything is fine and dandy" mumbo jumbo every year has become irritating.

What's the point of reading his blog anyway? It's predictable. You know what you're going to get out of him. There wont be a Rasheed Wallace moment or anything. He wont be honest. He'll just used his blog to promote MSG propaganda (the great Dolan now owns Newsday). Just don't sit here and try to take any real information from his blogs. They are not to be trusted or to be taken seriously.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

He can write what he wants, it's just that this was boring and predictable like GKF said. If you are goign to blog you got to bring your A game. I could have written this thing 3 months ago.

He didn't exactly give any glowing endorsement of Curry. It sounded like he was being as nice as he could. What I picked up from his comments is that Curry is struggling to keep up with the pace and the change from just planting himself like a tree. He's gonna have to move now and not clog up the lane.

I think he'll eventually thrive in this new role. He's so big, strong and quick that if he's moving and get's those short quick passes, he'll be unstoppable. All teams will be able to do is foul him. Fewer stagnant post ups and more alley's, cuts to the baskets, pick and rolls.
