And that in itself is worth rooting for them to lose the entire season?

The season is over holfresh have you checked the standings and watched the way we lose games? If we salvage the season and no I'm not talking making the playoffs we know it's not happening what does that do for the team?

true.. watching lee tonight, I was impressed. He hit three jumpers, that is the most in any game I have seen him hit, it looks like he has added some nice things to his game. I just pray that the next regime, keeps he and balkman as part of the core, those guys deserve a shot to win here under the right circumstances. I would love to rid ourselves of zach, eddy, james, jeffries and then hopefully add derrick rose in the draft, that would definately kickstart the rebuilding effort off right...

would you rather have the 8th pick or 1st pick? Say it's 2005. Shot at Bogut, Deron Williams, Paul, Frye.

I am rooting for the #1 pick.

U would rather have the first pick naturally but it still guarantees nothing...The Cliipers has been in a position to get the top picks many years now and they are no better than the Knicks..
Clippers, Hawks,Bobcats,etc...

I thought it was alrady discussed that the #1 pick guarantees nothing in terms of talent, we're with you on that.

What we're saying is that it DOES guarantee flexibility as to who and what a franchise needs, how do you not agree with that fact ?

I don't understand this argument. And the teams that did have the other picks are in good position such as the Blazers, Raptors, Celtics, and others have benefited from the draft.

Clippers are the Clippers and the other teams are rebuilding. Hawks are finally coming into their own and the Bobcats are in their 4th year of existence.

There is no logical reason to believe winning anything now helps the team.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

In my opinion, the Knicks' two biggest needs are at PG and C.

Let's say the 2 best players in the 2008 draft (based on their collegiate/adolescent performances, since that is all we can go by) consists of a PG and C.

With the 10th pick, those players are gone. With the 1st or 2nd pick, they get one of those 2 players.

I can't believe you don't get it.

What argument? There is none. The Celtics drafted Al Jefferson, Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green, Gerald Green, Delonte West, Gomes, and others. They didn't rebuild till the end though, they traded their young talent for Garnett and Allen. The point is they built through the draft first. They were rebuilding. That's what we need to do. Trading for crap like Bibby or Jermaine O'Neal wont do anything in the long run. The only way to success is to rebuild. You rebuild with high draft picks.

Listen, to one and all...I root for the Knicks to win all the time...I could give two ****s about a draft pick...It's difficult for me to enjoy a loss as a fan of a team...I'm not sure how many of you do it...I just can't...I think you are really lying about your feelings if you are a true fan...You are just trying to convince yourself their is light at the end of the tunnel the more you lose...Something positvie will come of this...I really don't care...If it happens that the Knicks get a good pick as a result of sucking large, so be it...Rooting for them to lose is another story...

I get amped up all summer to see this team play..ALL FREAKING SUMMER..Now the games are on I'm rooting for them to lose?...How that is possible is beyond me....Hope you get what you want guys...

Because we actually own our pick this yr and even at best case scenario I didn't think the team, as currently constructed was going to be that good anyway. Besides let's not back track, we're focusing as things stand now. What good is rooting for wins going to do when the %'s of success are greatly stacked against us?

Good for you. Nobody is asking you to root for them to lose. You're arguing that them losing does them no good when I gave you a prime example as to why rebuilding is the way to go. Believe what you want to believe but the reason we are in this mess is because we've been winning 30 games a year and thinking we need "1 more piece." We need more than that. Much more.

So I hope we do get what we want (and any other normal fan wants) which is Isiah getting fired and a top draft pick for a franchise player we can actually build around.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
