the way to compete with teams that play good defense is to play some defense of your own... even more reason to go out & get a shotblocker to play in our frontcourt & help alleviate some of our obvious deficiencies.

Coach has acknowledged earlier this season, except a little too late probably. Curry got outplayed by Kwame Brown. Kwame is no good but he didn't play bad enough to hurt the Lakers like Curry did us. It's time to get down on that knee.

i have no idea what ur getting at w/the coach & getting down on a knee comment.

I SAY UGH said earlier he needs shot blocking from Curry(LOL @ that request) and we need to get down on a knee and ask Mitch if we can exchange Curry for Kwame's expiring and 2 2nd round draft picks.

Oh that's right we could have drafted him but instead went with Chandler and most of the Haters at the time said get some defense. I SAY UGH instead went offense and followed the voice of Stephon and "picked a shooter". I assume the shooter was supposed to complement Curry and Zach but they don't mesh well together, nor do they play a lick of D, which would make a player like Chandler irrelevant when they are in and out of the line-up with no consistency. But wait Chandler hasn't even received a fair shot and rots on our bench.

Sean Williams was long gone before the Knicks made their pick.
Not that I'm in a mood to defend the pick, but Chandler hasn't played enough to really judge that selection. He's looked decent the few times he's gotten a shot. As far as "picked a shooter" goes...wasn't half the board screaming for Morris Almond? I'm no exception to that either.

the Lakers are just a much better team than the Knicks... the only shock to me is that the Knicks were even competitive for most of this game... i had them in gamepicker to lose by +11 so i had that one but didn't figure it was gonna even be close for most of the game... it was nice to at least see Nate & D Lee playing some great basketball.

btw, what did i tell u guys about that Vujacic cat? the guy hits some big shots... i would love a guy like that on the Knicks... his D isn't all that bad either.

I agree at the same time we probably should have won this game without question, considering the circumstances.

Kobe played steady, the Lakers had no Bynum or Luke Walton and we got Flame Throwed by Sasha and lost. I think it continues to speak volumes of how bad a team we have. We appear to building up trade value with some of our players. I hope we cash in/cash out on them at the deadline or over the summer.

no way can u say we should have won this game... the Lakers are 1 of the better teams in the league... even without Bynum they're still a better team than the Knicks, let's be real here... we don't have anyone close to Kobe... u can't say "Kobe just played steady so we shoulda won this game"... Jamal didn't have a big game either & i'm sure no one here is gonna confuse him to be on Kobe's level... try & be objective (i know it's hard for some of you).

trust me, Sasha toasts teams like this in crunchtime... i've watched just about every Laker game this season & he's done this to other teams too... his yearly averages aren't much to look at, but he plays better than his numbers indicate... plus he's got nice size for a SG at 6'7"

& seeing guys like Nate & D Lee improve is a very positive thing to come out of this season, no matter how crappy the team's record is, not only because their trade values are increasing & GM's are starting to take notice, but because there's a nice chemistry that's starting to form among certain members of this team that i think we can build on...

right now, i see 4 players that pretty much must be traded/waived at this point if we're ever to improve as a unit:

Curry
Zach
Marbury
Q Rich

i'm gonna write up an explanation of that on a separate thread

What about Jerom, Jeffries, Malik, and Jones?
The 4 players you selected are bad but not THAT bad like this 4.
And what about unknown players like Chan, Morris, Mardy?
Do they at all exists?
Lee, nate, balk, and Craf - this is all we have... O man....

they're bad, no question, but they're not holding back our team from improving going forward as much as those other guys are IMHO... Malik's contract will be a valuable commodity next season as an expiring... Marbury not so much since he's considered to be such a negative presence on any team he goes to... plus, i'd sooner Isiah simply waives him rather than take on yet another maxed out contract of a player that makes absolutely no sense for our roster yet again & compound the problem even further... at least w/Malik, his contract value isn't so much that it would be a disaster if we took a flyer on someone for longer years.

Matt's right... there was plenty of vocal posters here calling for Morris Almond... i wanted Sean Will from the get go but he was taken by Thorn before we had a chance to nab him... from what i hear Wilson Chandler is supposed to be a decent defender... i'd have a better idea of that if he ever got any freakin' playing time.

CRAP! I missed the spread by one point. One Point! and now I'm even lower in the last 5 games standings then i was before. Man, the game picker competition is getting stiff. Even missing the spread makes you plummet.

Oh I didn't watch the game cause I had to work. But looking at the boxscore it looks like Curry turned in his usual cupcake performance. Blech.....

4 years into Isiah's regime adn we still are happy when the team loses, as long as they play hard and play as a team. Wow!

I thought this was the year we were supposed to win. It sounded that way during the offseason.
I just hope that people will like me

Right now we need to trade either Curry or Zach for an ending contract and a young prospect. I think Curry has more value than Zach right now and could be moved. A target I see is Miami. Riley needs a dominant big man and Riley is stubborn enough to make sure his bigs can get enough touches. I think Curry can also benefit from Wade. We can unload Curry and Jerome James contract for White Chocolate and Ricky Davis contract plus the Heats first round pick this year which could be in the lottery.

We can then start DLee, Zach, Qrich, Mardy, Jamal which is a very effective group for us. We can actually cut White Chocolate and see what Ricky Davis can do for the rest of the year.

Riley is arrogant enough to think he can make Curry a great player and I think with Wade, he can be great. He can learn from the Diesel and they can be downright scary with a rotation of Curry, Shaq and Haslem in the front line. Shaq should still be able to give you 15 min a game next year.

i'm not happy w/any loss, but if we're gonna lose i want to see some effort & some improvement outta our youth... so far i'm seeing it out of Jamal, D Lee & Nate, so that's at least a start.
