newyorknewyork - nice try.

I think Dolan's fingerprints are on the trigger. he simply got tired of hearing it.

Isiah is just following orders.

This is too funny.

I'm sure this is just so tragic for all the insightful analysts (cough, Nixluva), who told us "not to be so sure that Steph wasn't going to have a great season for us" and that "we should consider re-signing him after his contract is up."

Surprise, surprise mutiny occurs after game 5. I guess thats better than LB, when mutiny struck in preseason.
Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

Marbury skips Knicks' practice; rumors swirl about his future

ESPN.com news services

Updated: November 13, 2007, 3:13 PM ET

PHOENIX -- Stephon Marbury missed the New York Knicks' morning practice Tuesday, fueling speculation that his future with the team is in doubt, according to several New York media reports.

Knicks head coach Isiah Thomas told reporters Tuesday that Mardy Collins would start in Marbury's place in tonight's game against the Suns.

Thomas declined to comment on reports in the New York Daily News earlier Tuesday that Marbury's role would be "reduced" and that there had been discussions to try to move Marbury.

Marbury's contract is worth $42 million over the next two seasons. If the Knicks buy Marbury out, he'd be a free agent.

"Any type of penalty or suspension will be in-house and we'll try to keep it within the confines of our team. This is an in-house matter with our team and we'll keep it and leave it at that," Thomas told reporters, according to the Daily News. "We hope to see [Marbury] tonight at the game. However, if he's not, make no mistake about it, we want him as a member of our basketball team."

Marbury came to Phoenix with his Knicks teammates Monday. The New York Post reported Tuesday that Marbury had left Phoenix. Thomas told reporters he was unsure if Marbury was still in Phoenix.

The game against the Suns is the first of four on this trip for New York.

Thomas said this was not the first time this kind of incident has happened.

"It seems like he and I go through this every November, then a couple of weeks go by and we kind of kiss and make up, then we go back to the business of trying to win basketball games."

Information from The Associated Press is included in this report

Marbury's not even in Phoenix? They go through this every year? I don't recall this happening before.

The Answer Man Never Met a Leprechaun He Actually Liked

Q. babyknicks - what do you think?

A. I think this season is going about as planned. Like Abruzzi (or was it Solazzo) said in The Godfather, "it happens, every few years you gotta get rid of the bad blood"

Q. babyknicks - Marbury goes to boston and completes the puzzle and they win a title?

A. Boston ain't winnin' jack. You heard it here second.

If Marbury is really gone, does this means the Knicks get to the Eastern conference finals.

When he left phoenix, the next yr they went to the western conference finals with Nash.

When he left NJ, they also went to the Eastern conference finals with Kidd.

Both teams including Minnesota won 50 or more games in the seasononce he left

Does this mean the Knicks win 50 plus games this yr? Don't think so, get rid of the main problem, DOLAN!

Was it Earle or Nixluva who said this team would definitely win at least 46? Maybe it was both of them!

5 games into the season and the **** is already hitting the fan.

I Love This Game!

The best part is that for the first time in his career, Marbury doesn't deserve this. How's that for irony?

He doesn't?

I'm guessing he's okay. I think his pride is wounded. But of course, I hope nothing bad happens. Steph is such an innocent.

- isiah said he still wants steph on the team and this is an unexcused absence
- zach is not with the team
- mardy will start tonight
- and isiah alluded to eddy possibly NOT starting tonight b/c of production
- steph is being used as the scape goat

I don't buy any of this. I think what this really means is that Zeke is feeling the fire, so he's passing the buck to Marbury. I think Marbury will outlast Zeke. This is a stunt. Zeke will try to make ammends with Steph at some point when he thinks he's made a mistake.

It'd be nice if Dolan would just fire Zeke and make Steph go home for the year and we'll call him if we need to trade his expiring deal next year.
