Here's a better question for you....If Isiah doens't go anytime soon, will you ever root for the Knicks?

As long as Isiah is here, I will always root for the Knicks, to lose that is. The more losses we have and the more boos at MSG means the quicker Dolan realizes his plan of acquiring as many pseudo "star" players as possible...is fools gold.

Marbury needs to go. Curry too.

Ugh.

Just a kind thought any true Knicks fan would never root against them. So sad to hear you say that. You have a right to your opinion.

Man up?

What do you guys have against nixluva? I'm sick of everyone baggering him. The guy is a loyal fan of the knicks, period. Just like me.

I agree with 90% of what nixluva says. Its getting ridiculous. Its like nixluva is the guys everyone clowns is high school.

Who here wants to palm nixluvas balls? Man up!

Nice! I want Artest on this team only if we don't give up Lee or Balkman. The risks are extremely high but I created a poll about risking Artest without giving up Lee and most of us went for it. Its obvious thats how the majority of the media feels too! Imma scour the internet looking for news about the trade. Don't give up too much Zeke!

I agree man. The thing is, all nixluva has to do is ignore them. Thats what most of us do right? Here is the thing, the off seasons are always full of pissy fits. We know the members that bait us into the same pointless arguments about Curry, Stephon and Isiah. We can just ignore them right? I really think the way to do it for another few weeks is ignore them.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Thanks EnySpree, Silverfuel, I'll try to take your advice, but man it's tough when these guys bring up my name even when I haven't yet posted in a thread. They're raggin on me out of the blue in many cases. Then they're accusing me of crap and I went back and looked at the summer threads from last year and could't find the posts they're claiming I did them all wrong. Besides how long should we carry a grudge for things said anyway? Why am I so special?

Anyway, back to the Topic of the thread:

This Artest thing is a pain in the neck. His talent is obvious, but even more so is his inclination to say and do something stupid. It's almost a repeat of the LB thing. LB was available and if Isiah didn't take the best coach available he'd get killed. If he takes him and things don't work out as they didn't, he get's killed. Artest is kind of a similar deal. He's almost exactly what we need in terms of a player, but his penchant for blowing up makes him toxic.

Personally i'd rather go with what we've got, but I know Isiah will be under pressure to do something and he's likely already expecting to make a move for Artest. Or it could be that he holds off, but then if things get desparate during the season he still might end up going after him. The only thing we can hope for is that he doesn't bite and that things go well in the season, so that he doesn't feel compelled to do anything drastic.

I think Artest is a horrible idea here. But I think it has a pretty good shot of happening. Prob 50/50.

He's going to want too many shots though. I actually like the idea of Zach and Artest - but we'd have to ditch Eddy for a Dalembert/Camby type center.

Would much rather do a trade with Utah.

Jones (3.5mm), Dickau (2.9mm), Jefferies (5.5mm) & Balkman (1.1mm) for AK47 (13mm)

I think Utah would do this deal because there's definitely a rift between AK47 & management/Sloan. They'd also get $$$ relief w/ the expiring deals. Meanwhile, we get a premier defender (better than Artest) & a roster spot for DNic.

That's interesting. I kind of gave up on the idea of AK47, but he is a great help defender. Playing Devil's advocate. He does seem to have his own mental issues tho, so he's also damaged goods, but in a different way than Artest. AK also makes more money and isn't a good 3pt shooter statistically. Can he guard SF's? Would he be able to take the pressure of NY?

Eny, stay out of battles that arent your own.
Silver... I expected ALOT more from you. I suppose I should have expected this kind of thing from you. Oh well.

Nix called me out and a number of others multiple times last season when we questioned how the offense would work with Francis and Marbury, when we questioned the chemistry on the team and when we questioned how this team could compete for the playoffs.

He went on and on how we werent' Knick fans for questioning these things and that everything was going to be more than fine. This went on for the whole offseason. Since then he's never said one word to us about it. I want him to manup about it.

What did you have against Channing Frye. Why did you bager him so much. He was a loyal knicks player.

Why did you continue to rag on him constantly, even though he was trying his hardest.

Maybe it was man-love.

Nyk4ever you can't be serious. I can't believe you want nixluva to man up about an opinion. I had the same opinion nixluva had.

You expect a lot more from silver? What does that mean?

Battles? What's really going on here? Do you want to challenge nixluva to a duel or something. Nixluva never has a hostile tone in his threads. He just states an opinion.

Last year I was saying the same things nixluva was saying about how the quick offense was gonna work and how people weren't this or that. Is that manning up?

You know, I can't remember if I took a **** yesterday let alone what I said in a message board a year ago.

I really want to know what is this big beef that you and others have with nixluva. At first I thought it was just you guys busting his chops, but is it deeper than that? I don't understand what the big deal is.

Dude, he called us out more than once Eny. Calling us non-Knick fans becuase of what we thought. I didn't see you stepping in at that time and saying anything to him about how we were still Knicks fans even though we thought the team wasn't going to perform. So why are you now? Why do you feel the need to protect Nix but not others on this forum?

I have never once said I didn't like Nix's optimism! Never once and he's a good poster who brings up alot of good conversation. He's not mean (except when he constantly called myself and a few others out for not thinking the Knicks were going to be good last year and called us non-Knick fans)

I have rarely argued with the guy directly about many issues Knicks aside from the crap last year and wanting him to say something about all the crap he said to us last year. So please direct your protection efforts towards some of the others on this forum.

Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but Balkman has the potential to be an elite level defender, and soon. But he's gonna do that while being a high character player, an on the floor and a glue guy. Artest is that kind of guy right now, but he's basically a time bomb. Why deal the younger guy who's never gonna be headache for the older guy who can blow up at any second? And throw in picks? It's pretty senseless...and IMO while Artest is the better player...exactly how much does his impact on our W-L significantly outweigh what Balk would bring if they played him 35 mins this year? Not sure its enough for the risk.

I don't mind trading for Artest as long as it doesn't include Nate Robinson.

oh....and it can't include BOTH Balkman and Lee.

you'd be OK w/trading either Balkman or D Lee for Artest but not Nate?

I'm in the miniority on this, but I think Nate is going to be a very good player. Better than all of our recent draftee's.
as far as Balkman and Lee....I think they both do same things on the court. Both hustle players with great leaping abilities. At the end, I think Balkman will be the better defender but right now, since they are similar, I wouldn't mind giving up one of them for a player like Artest.

nyk4ever, I refute the idea that I went out of my way to initiate bashing you or Bip last summer. I went back and read many of the threads in which we had exchanges last year and for the most part there was an equal level of nastiness from both sides. I've saved the url's if you really want to see what we said to each other. I couldn't find the specific thread you and Bip keep referring too, but here's what i'm prepared to do.

I'm sorry if I ever said anything out of line to Bippity10, nyk4ever or anyone else, back in the summer of 2006. We all have opinions and as such there are bound to be differences. Sometimes things get out of control and we say things we shouldn't. I'm not going to apologize for my specific opinions on what I thought the Knicks would or wouldn't do. No one should have to apologize for that.

Let's just agree to end this already, cuz it's crazy that it should carry over this long.

Or you could be a better man when questioned by what you said just simply say "I WAS WRONG" and this is "HOW I FEEL NOW". Regardless we're used to the fact it's a 100% lock you aren't going to go against the grain of what this organization does. If they FLIP-FLOP to the fans you're cool with it, as long as you can hold out your hope in them. The REALIST say enough is enough, stop lying and pacifying and stick to a real plan. We also want accountability from the top, so it can trickle down to the players.
