I don't think we need to react to this trade. We still have a very young team. Let's put these guys out on the court and see what they can do now that we have a system and upgraded from Frye to Randolph. With Marbury and Rose's expiring contracts next year, we will be in a much better position to make a trade next summer. Don't make any rash moves IT.

KG, Ray Allen, and Pierce havent won anything as of yet. They look good on paper but I would like to see how they handle our youngins running up and down the floor.Zeke could have offered Curry, Zack, Marbs, Crawford plus our next number 1 picks for the next 5 yrs a McKalle would turn it down. Ainge, Bird, and McKalle would give Zeke nothing, We never had a chance to get KG. It's an unspoken word but about 10 GMs in this league would not deal with Zeke. They are part of that Larry Bird connection. Remember This!!!Anything less than Boston going to the finals is a failed year for them. As for Artest let the Kings play hardball because if they don't trade him they loose him because Artest knows he is coming to New York. Lets see what we've got. I still think that N8 will have a break out season. If we keep David Lee he is gonna have to learn to shoot and defend. Hey Getting those rebounds is good but thats almost like Curry Making shots but getting no Rebounds.

Dude, if this is true, then we have to get a new GM. Obviously you cannot be effective as a GM if half the other GM's won't deal with you.

one-third by my count.

Whatever. You get the point. Is 1/3 not enough of a problem for you?

Depends on which third... Clearly the third that owned the rights to Artest, JO'Neal, Garnett et al bothers me. BTW, how do we know they won't deal with IT...maybe IT won't deal with them...he seems like a guy who might shut certain people out and not talk to them... (well, at least if they are HOF coaches formerly employed by the Knicks).

Either way, dude, its a problem if it were fact.

Jesus. Isiah is gambling on known cancers while Danny Ainge is going out and getting guys like Ray Allen AND Kevin Garnett; guys who have been great team players and great players in this league. This sucks and now Isiah is going to be forced to go out and get a guy like Ron Artest just to keep up with the C's.

I already stated the exact same thing a page or 2 ago.

Screw that. He is a Celtic. Screw Bird, McHale, Parish, Ainge and all those 80 Celtics (I hate them the worst). I am a Knicks fan I don't want to deal with any of them as well. What's wrong with you? How can any Knick fan like the Celtics?

BECAUSE I AM A KNICK FAN. I don't give a crap what team my GM played for.
He just has to be effective at building our team.
By that logic, why would I want a former Piston to be a GM of my team?
The bad boy Pistons were HATED by Knicks fans. Or have you conveniently
forgotten that.

Again, I don't give a crap if the GM of the Knicks was a Knick villian as big as
MJ, Bill Laimbeer, or Reggie Freakin' Miller if they could do a good job at it.

I think you must not be a very good Knick fan if you are putting your hate of
past teams players above your hope for a future good team of the Knicks.

Isiah could be fired tomorrow and I don't care but I will never say a reason to get rid of a Knick GM is because a bunch of former Celtics don't want to deal with them. If you want to get rid of him because of the bad trades and bad signings that one thing but to say because some GMs don't want to deal with him because of their past rivalries is just as bad.

I never said that was the reason I want him fired.
I said it was a problem, and you should not have a GM that cannot deal with a significant fraction of the other GMs in the league.

amazing... Our roster is full of overpriced fodder, and after a couple of strange seasons Ainge goes with KG, Pierce and Ray Allen with some solid role players. Awesome.

I wonder if this deal was encouraged by Commissioner Stern as a way to get people talking about something other then Tim Donaghy.

No. It was one of the early off-season stories and was stated it would be revisited later on in the off-season. This was well in the works as early as the trade deadline when the A.I. rumors were running rampant.
