Hmm it just occurred to me, some sort of really screwed up irony. We wanted Kobe, an accused rapist, but the Lakers aren't trading for now. Instead, we get Zack, another accused rapist. What an odd pattern.

Don't forget Ruben Patterson for the MLE.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Zach for Jefferson or Zach for pieces from Chicago or even Zach to Minnesota would be a BLESSING.

Zach can't be traded for awhile now, I think theres a 3month waiting period.

PF was a disaster for us last year, so this makes sense from an Xs and Os standpoint. We also improve our rebounding. Zach is very good there. what we dont improve is our defense which is horrible, but the rebounding makes a difference there.

I do think Zach wants to win. Yes.. he's a retard and an jerkoff, but if you have watched him losing pisses him off and he plays hard.

This is a typical Isiah/Knicks move, but in that context its one of the better ones. Frye paid the price for not being able to adjust to playing PF and Francis was a total waste of space

what are the chances we got one of their 2nd round picks?
Would JJ3 make anyone feel any better?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

exactly

Especially the part about Francis being a waste of space. Seriously, if we kept FRancis, how much better would we be?

Zack Randolph + Eddy Curry = 0.7 blks, 6.8 TOs. Those two things worry me, especially the terrible defense.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

The turnovers worry me- but, Zach isn't going to get the touches like he did with Portland- and he got doubled a lot last year- just like Curry, but he didn't have anyone to pass to.

I'd like to think that Zach can be moved- but I thought that of Francis

so we're adding $61 million dollars in salary due to Zach Randolph over the next 4 seasons, & SAS is ranting about how Isiah was able to unload Steve Francis' contract, which is roughly about half contract wise in dollars & length of years???

then we throw in Channing Frye to get back 2 expiring contracts of Fred Jones & Dan Dickau, 2 young players who haven't done much of anything in the NBA since they were drafted themselves.

sorry if i don't jump up & down over this one... i would have much preferred to simply buy out Steve Francis & trade Frye in a deal to get Ron Artest... at least his deal expires the same season as Marbs, & he'd actually add a dimension to this team that we NEED.

oh brother... Zach Randolph is now a NY Knick... the 1 guy i would have thought Isiah would not be crazy enough to trade for, & he goes & does it.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Interesting how some of the posters here thought that Randolph is great for the Nets...

Anyway, for all of everyone's discussion about looking at "the future" in terms of signing free agents, why can this move not be seen as setting up the Knicks for potentially trading for someone like Kobe, if he still wants out. There is nothing written in stone that this absolutely means Curry & Zach will stay together fovever.

Do the Knicks not now have more flexibility in trading Curry in a potential Kobe deal next year? He can now be traded (not saying I want that to happen now), and the Knicks could still have Zach who is a serious/top post threat scorer at the PF spot, which is what Kobe wants.

We stole a 24 ppg and 10 rpg for two guys that have little or no place on this team, and we still find problems with it. Sheesh.

Ah ****! I'm in denial. I won't believe it until I see it's officially gone down. Come on Isiah, back out of this. We know you're a liar, you can do it!
ROFL. ALSO! MARTIN - did you change it so that when you hit reply you cant see the curse words? change it back, it was better that way - or you can add an option to see the "adult" language. thanks

It's not just "the contract" he is referring to. Francis' is not going to contribute anything near to what he is being paid, and is not of any use to the Knicks on the team. So Isiah moves he and Frye for Zach who is still young and can play. At least Randolph puts up numbers that match his salary, and it seems still has value as the rumors going around the Nets were interested in him.

In layman's terms: For the Knicks Zach = Value, Francis = A waste of money for two years

i see it this way too. I also agree that Artest would have been a better move to make.

You guys aren't analyzing this in context.

WE DIDN'T NEED RANDOLPH!
