If they played like this every game a playoff berth would have already been secured.

Why haven't they? Did they get up for this game because it was the Mavs? But when the lowly Trailblazers coem to The Garden without their best player they get down for that game.

Young teams tend to do that. On balance, Isiah has done a good job coaching this team, and with everyone healthy next season, and an acquisition or two, I think they will win 45 games.

That applies to all 29 other teams in the league.

When they were healthy they were on pace to win 34gms this season. Consistent 6gms under .500 which is a 41% wiining %. What team goes through the whole yr without injury? I said before the season started they'd win 33gms and I factored everything into the equation. Next yr they'll win 38gms

All 29 teams are young? Where in the minor leagues?

I should have bolded what I making reference to.

Do you even think before you write? This team wasn't playing at a consistent 6 gams under. They started off the 1st month like that, but after that they played at around .500. This team will have a WINNING record next year.

How many teams lose 3 of their top players and go on to win games at the same rate or better? You won't even concede that it's NOT NORMAL to lose 3 of your best guys for the season. A few injuries is one thing, but what we have right now is not normal and shouldn't be expected. Good health is part of the success of a team that wins a title. In most cases the team that wins the title has relatively good health and most of their key players are there in the stretch run and in the playoffs. What the hell have you been watching all these years?

It's a prediction. I could be wrong. I expect Curry to be better defensively. I expect Lee to be better. Q to be healty. Balkman, Nate, and Mardy to be better. I think the light has gone on for Steph. The key is who can Isiah draft, and what can he do with Frye and possibly Craw.

As in trade and/or both? I thought Craw's injury is the reason the team is sliding out of the playoffs.

Who knows?

I think Lee and Q are much more costly losses.

Record after 20 games: 7-13
Record after 30 games: 12-18
Record after 40 games: 17-23
Record after 50 games: 22-28
Record after 60 games: 27-33
Record after 70 games: 30-40

That looks like consistently playing 6 games under .500 to me. Don't know what kind of homeristic math you're using.

I agree with everything you expect except the bolded portion. This is the second year we as fans had that same expectaion. Plan for Q to be hurt, but hope that he is 100%.

Plan for Isiah to find another unheralded Trevor Ariza clone to play guard

Expectations... schmecpactations

Most fans can only look back and complain about what's wrong instead of looking forward and know how to fix something

This is the "homeristic math":

Knicks record in first 20 games: 7-13
record in games 21-30: 5-5
record in games 31-40: 5-5
record in games 41-50: 5-5
record in games 51-60: 5-5
record in games 61-70: 3-7
record in games 71-72: 1-1

So we see, after a subpar start, the Knicks played .500 ball in games 21-60. The recent 3-7 stretch were games played entirely without Lee and Crawford and mostly without Q, 3 of NY's top 5 players during their .500 stretch.

the knicks played like the 2000 sixers.

marbury does all the scoring, while guys were hustling and playing defense around him (mardy, balkman, malik). he kept rotating everyone in and out to keep the energy level high while steph carried the offensive load.

we knocked dallas on their heels and it was tough for them to recover. they weren't expecting it.

best, most intense game, the knicks have played all season.

I think the surgery will either work out really well, or he'll retire. I'm confident that it will be the former.
