There goes Earl thinking he's Big Chief Knicks and "revoking" peoples fan cards. What a joke.

Eddy simply raised the bar of performance for himself

If he's feeling more confident, I don't see a problem. Isn't having the confidence to speak up a part of being assertive?

Eddy has been labelled as passive and the minute he asserts himself it's "get back in your place fat boy!"

It's all good?

he's labeled passive on the court. he's (arguably?) asserting himself with the media. big difference.

while IMO some people are overreacting with the criticism, i don't think this is a big positive either...

like you say man, just win baby.

Malik Rose comments about not getting too high after a win have little to do with this situation i believe. Eddy Curry wasn't talking because he had just won one measly game (it was 2!).

But seriously, if Eddy is asked, "how would you feel if Isiah isn't here next year" how would you expect him to react??? Do you want him to give some BS response that he doesn't mean or are you happy he spoke his mind as a man?

I choose, act like a man.

Do you choose corporate lackey? Cablevision suck-up?

Would this make you happy:

Eddy Curry: "All that matters to me is that Dolan is still here next year, cuz he signs the checks"
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

no need for him to add "then i don't want to be here."

he could've just said "i hope he doesn't b/c he's really helped me out."

but again, the guy is 24, and he didn't think before he spoke...or he was encouraged to say something like this. whatever the case, it is what it is.

dunno, i disagree. curry is sticking his neck out for a coach with a sub-.500 record- i'm guessing the (over?)confidence from the 2 game win streak had something to do with it. which in itself isn't a problem, but when it's a trend... we've been let down by this team before, malik has an explanation and words of advice that i'd like some indication our youth are taking to heart.

really no disagreement here. he could have said something more tactful (i.e. what dj said ^^^), but i'm not going to kill him for it. i'm more concerned with how he and the team do vs the jazz- tough game coming up.

larry new bedford, ma: David, As a coach of a youth basketball team what is the one or two most important skills to teach the kids. Thank you!

David Thorpe: 1. Love of the game/respect for their coaches
2. Hoops IQ
3. Nutrition and conditioning
4. dribbling, passing, catching-both hands
5. layups-either hand

This is pretty much why Eddy can't say anything.....

1. Doesn't like the game
2. Is dumb
3. He is terrible with both
4. Fair
5. Ok

Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Get rid of Isiah and trade 1 dimensional curry when value is overrated.

Well if you stop grouping me into disliking a whole group of players based on what I just said about one, then maybe we can get somewhere.
I said all this and you pick out one little thing. Ok. Go back to my post and read it and this time substitute it to say "Eddy" instead of "this group of players" and then respond. Actually, let me post it for you myself.

you forget that the guy making the decisions is at the other end of the spectrum. There is absolutely no middle ground. You hate Eddy and give him no chance. They like they and want to give him plenty of time to prove/disprove. If you the neo-con, they are the Daily Kos.

I'm surprised how Isiah inspires loyalty in people. Its hard to this in real life with regular people. To do this with 24 year old millionaires is damn near impossible. Eddy is not going anywhere and it looks like neither is Isiah.

I give Curry all the credit in the world. He is playing up to the potential I always thought he had but never thought he'd reach because I didn't think he'd get his head straight.

Yeah, Silver. I said Curry had the second most potential in the league from some other young big men Solace listed, I voted him to the All-Star game, and think he has amazingly high potential. You have to really start differentiating between disappointment and hate.

I understand Curry. When he was said to have the heart problems, nobody was trying to give Curry a contract. Even the bulls were giving him low ball offers. So Isiah took care of him. So he will allways be loyal to Isiah for taking care of him in his time of need.

The question is. Say Isiah is fired. Which curry just confirmed he won't be. Does Curry stop working hard on his game? Does he not get in shape at all? Does he end up not caring. J'Oneal you wouldn't have to ask those questions. With Curry you do.

I also agree with, if Curry really wants to save Isiahs job then he needs to start carring this team a little more, to more Ws. Start owning the boards, and intimidate(spell?) in the paint. As well as look to make his teammates better by setting them up through the post. The way he was doing vs LAC.
Is it wrong that I'm in complete and total apathy at this point as far as this whole Isiah thing goes?

Seriously. I just want to win. Zeke or no Zeke. It's the NEW YORK Knicks.

Im in the same boat. I just want the knicks to win. I don't care who the coach is, the gm is, the players are. I just want the knicks to win.

I'm fine with Curry saying this. Jermaine O'neal said it in Indiana. Frankly, I'd like Isiah to stay on as coach as well with a GM brought in to work with him.

In all seriousness, who cares what he says. Eddie, if you want Isiah to stay, play some defense so we can get Jerome out of the friggin' starting lineup.

Hey Curry, STFU. If you really wanted Isiah to stay you'd be putting your arms up on defense and rebounding like you actually gave a sh!t.

Secondly, who the F do you think you are?!? You don't have the juice to make statements like this. You're not an irreplaceable franchise player. You're like the 8th best center in the league. The fans didn't think that much of you based on the all star voting and neither did the east coaches. All that crap your teammates spewed must have really gone to your head.

I'm seriously getting tired of listening to these idiots.

Apparently, you are tired of everything pro-knick, pro-isiah, and/or pro-team. You focus on weakness despite the fact that eddy is coming into his own. And,I am not an eddy-lover, but look at the statement and what it means, the point is simply that eddy has a relationship with Isiah and he has gotten through to him. Smile, and say "that's nice" and leave it at that.
You know I gonna spin wit it

So if you are giving him all this credit, what upsets you about him saying something nice about Isiah? They asked him how he would react and he said what he said! Disappointment? After Curry turned around his entire season in 2 months? You want him to improve overnight? What exactly is your beef with him sticking up for his coach? The dude played consistently on offense for 2 months so now he can say something nice about his coach.

I mean, these guys didn't like their coach last year and we got on them for that. Now they say something nice about their coach and you still want to get on them? Are you sure you are just disappointed? Maybe you have to "really start differentiating."
