It seems a reasonable deal- as some have posted, rehabilitate Francis and you have a very tradable asset

Yeah that is another big point(badum bum, ).....If Francis doesn't fit we'll know right away. Who cares?....Francis could be moved easily especially if you factor Jalen Rose and the draft picks into the picture. Yo man....this deal has to go down....

i'll be happy with this deal, battie is better than james plus he'll expire at the end of the year. francis is a lot better than JC and has a shorter contract. i dont see denver giving up kmart without getting frye and thats just not going to happen. ariza has no future with us so thats no loss. jc will never be the player francis is so thats no loss either.

Seriously, If I was Zeke I would tell Kiki, ok...fine keep Kmart, have fun trying to get him motivated to play on your team again.Sometimes you can't be aggressive...get up and leave the table and make them ask you to come back.

I bet we still end up with KMart by the deadline.

I don't really care if this trade gets done. I don't mind saying goodbye to Penny, Ariza, and Crawford, but I really can't get too excited about it either.

Every year the Knicks do trades like this and nothing changes.

I don't think anything is going to happen until next Wednesday at the earliest. Orlando knows they can get this deal from Zeke any time they want, why not wait and see if something better pops up?

if we get francis, we're not getting watson- there is no point.

I'm sorry to see Crawford go- he just hasn't been able to put it together.

But then, LB hasn't been able to put it together for us this year.

It seems a reasonable deal- as some have posted, rehabilitate Francis and you have a very tradable asset

I think Crawford was having a decent season as the 6th man. It was until he was inserted into the starting line-up and forced to push the rock up that his game went to shiit

Brown said he did not anticipate a roster shake-up before the trading deadline, but all indications are that the Knicks are trying. They continue to discuss potential deals for Denver's Earl Watson and Portland's Theo Ratliff and — although it appears to be a long shot — they are pursuing Francis, according to two Eastern Conference executives, who were granted anonymity because they were not authorized to comment on negotiations.

The Knicks hope to use Penny Hardaway's expiring contract in any major deal, but acquiring Francis would probably cost them at least one of their rookies — Nate Robinson or Lee — and perhaps Crawford.

A Marbury-Francis pairing would be ultradynamic, and highly problematic. Both players are shoot-first point guards who have driven coaches and teammates to distraction. Neither one has the size to defend shooting guards — Marbury is 6 feet 2 inches, Francis 6-3.

Combined, they will earn $31 million this season. And yet, Marbury and Francis were named by their peers as two of the most overrated players in the league, according to a poll in this week's Sports Illustrated. Marbury topped the list, garnering 12 percent of the responses from 248 N.B.A. players. Francis received 9 percent of the vote.

The trade would also be a curious move for Orlando. The Magic traded the superstar Tracy McGrady to acquire Francis and Cuttino Mobley in 2004, and if Orlando sends Francis to the Knicks, it have very little to show for that deal.

"The only different look is I hope we're playing better," Brown said.
