Last 20 games of last season he averaged 17.4 pts adn 5.7 rebounds.
Last 10 games of last season he averaged 19.8 pts and 6.1 rebounds

The guy has a lot of room for improvement but he's 23 and I defy you to name more than 4 centers capable of doing what he is doing and still have upside on top of it. Only the truly pessimistic would be unhappy with having him on the roster. Rudy Gay hasn't even done anything on the college level yet.

Combine the two and over his last 44 games you are looking at 15.7 pts and 6.3 rebounds on about 53% shooting in about 27 minutes per game. Once this guy learns how to stay out of foul trouble...........

Wrong; I LOVE the small sample but would love a bigger sample more and have no reasons to expect it to turn for the worse as the sample grows bigger and our 22 year old continues to mature and learn under Larry. Is it okay, Isles, to be excited about having a PF ROY candidate and an improving 23 year old center with a very high upside?

but isiah got them so we must be doomed

Well its good that those are what his numbers are, but he did have a couple of 12 point and 5 rebound games recently, hopefully he'll become more consistent the more he gets in shape, but its good that he has been improving. For the record I thought the curry trade was a bad idea, but if he keeps going at this rate than it was a great one, but thats a pretty big IF, curry hasnt proven that he can perform that well reliably yet, in any case, im curious to see how the curry experiment pans out.

It's all about foul trouble and conditioning. The nutritionist was a start. He's 23 so it's going to take a while but the guy is definitely improving

20 games or 1/4 into the season and Curry's stats so far:

12.1 pts, 6 rebs and 1.1 blocks and he's missed a handful of games with injury.

Since he returned from injury on Dec. 26th, Eddy has been averaging 20.5 PPG and 9.4 RPG!!!!

He has arrived and still isnt even full speed yet.

Look at how he's compiling his numbers. Basically the same way that Nazr did. Guards penetrate and set him up for baskets. His numbers have gone up moreso from the improved guard play than anything he's done. And that's still from a very small sample.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Yes I agree Isles. Steph is making him better. But Nazr never put up these kinds of numbers over any stretch.

i think if you want to knock eddy curry, then do it b/c of his health. don't knock him as a player b/c everyone knows he has a long way to go. but that's what happens you bring in a 23 year old center. jamal has been playing amazingly lately and he's 25. curry is 2 years younger and at a position that usually takes longer to develop into. knock the curry trade b/c of his heart condition but don't know it b/c of him as a player b/c he's just a baby developmentally. and for now, his best role for us is a souped up nazr until he learns how to do more things.

Definitely pencil Eddy in for 20/10 tonight. He's gonna be in beast mode against the Hawks tonight.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

17.9ppg 7.8rpg since he came back from his last injury. He was injured in training camp, never learned the team, never got in shape, came in and started to get in shape then got injured, came back then got injured. this is the first consistent stretch he's been able to put together and learn the team.

I'm not saying he'll average 20 and 10, but he's pretty obviously a force. how many other centers in the league are putting up those numbers?

If he could learn to consistently convert his shots close in, he would become an All-Star.

A Nice Jumper and learning how to pass out of a double team would make him an All-Star.

that's a very good point. the passing is key. a 7-8 jumper would be nice and cut down on some of his charges.

12/5/1 in 50 games. I predict that Curry will miss extended time at some point in the season.

Wow; look at how much progress he's made since that 20 game mark.

Yah, this is pretty encouraging considering how hard it is to fill the Center spot. Once we infuse some D into him we couuld be set for awhile.

The most encouraging thing about Curry is that he is only 23 years old. Not sure why that matters when we are talking about other teams young guys but not ours. It's confusing, but my guess is he will probably become a better passer as he gets older.
