okay, I can see I'm out there alone with the Brand thing because Lee has a more versatile game away from the basket. But I would venture this - I think he's gonna really build on his low-post game and I bet Aguirre is really gonna work it with him. I mean already here's what he's known for on the post in college, and I think it's just the tip of the iceberg for this guy:

A good rebounder who really works on the glass… Relentlessly hits the offensive boards …gets great position in the post, and has excellent footwork… 6'10 with long arms and very quick for big man… Extremely quick and mobile in the post. Possesses a nice array of post moves, great footwork, Ambidextrous, meaning he can dribble and finish equally well with both his left and right hands (he's a natural lefty). Lee is especially good at establishing position in the paint and his soft hands make him a reliable target in the post. Has bulked up significantly, putting on over 15 pounds of pure muscle and dropping his body fat from 12% to 7

If he's that size he can play C for us sometimes...
He's 6'10 with long arms, toughness and good hops!

For those, unlike me, who know about Mr. Lee:

Is he a better player than Mike Sweetney?

He may be a better fit. Zeke likes long guys who can run and jump, and I think Sweetney is gonna be a part of the deal for another big man.

Lee made a big splash like when he was in HS, had a very disappointing career at Flordia. I remember my friend was liked him because he was the anti Jason Williams (not selfish, team guy). Florida success in the SEC helped Lee out alot, put him back on the map. The only problem I see with the picks of Frye and Lee are that they are too passive and placed the blame of their disappointing careers on team playing style. To be fair so did Ariza last season.

Another thing to like about David Lee...his performances in the tourney this year.

Vs. Ohio: 6/10, 14 pts, 8 rebs (4 offensive), 3 blocks, 3 stls
vs. Villanova: 7/12 20 pts, 10 rebs (7 offensive), 3 blocks, 3 stls.

Terrific offensive rebounder....

If you've been reading my posts, you'll know that David Lee was on of my favorite players at the 30th pick. I read a couple of things that said he measured a little higher than 6'9...with his leaping ability and tenacity I think he can play some quality backup C. A lot of people compare his athelticism to Chris Andersen. The one player I see when I watch him, is Scot Pollard back when he was on Sacramento. If you remember when Pollard played there he was a tenacious rebounder and great energy player off the bench...that is the kind of player that I see Lee as being.

I trust your oppinion so I'll wait and see. still pissed we took a low celing like like Frye over Bynum, Green, graham & granger!

From what I am hearing, Lee was a better pickup than I thought.

...can't wait to see these cats in the Summer League.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

David Lee is crazy athletic. I'm suprised but I'm not upset about the pick. I actually think he a highly underated player.

The Knicks needed a athletic finisher and we got one. David Lee is no token White Boy. You won't even know that David Lee is white once the season starts. Dude can really get up.....and get up fast.

I just hope dude is not on the Roids!!!! He gets really fired up when he is playing the game. I just hope that is just him being a crazy whiteboy. White guys and sports especially football....dudes get fired up easy.

I love the pick. David Lee is definately a finisher......I keep thinking Kenyon Martin or a young Antonio McDyess. Kid can really dunk that ball.

Terrible pick i think Isiah has proven himself to be a real dumb mother****er with this draft

I think you go Green or Granger with the first pick

Jack or Hodge with the Suns pick

And then take a chance on Blacthe, Taft, Deng Gi

Someone, this draft really proves their was no reason to make the Crawford trade last year and add all that salary, and JYD's contract, Isiah has no concept no plan, there is really no hope with this team

You swing for the fences in the draft you don't go after role players, which Frye is

You'd select two guards and one front court player of either a HS or a player with no motor. Sorry I disagree with you here. If you're trading KT you HAVE to draft to need at center. I like the picks.

I was optimistic at first, but I did my research and...

Lee, David 6' 7¾" 6' 9" 229½ 7' 0" 8' 10½" 42INCH VERTICAL LEAP!!!!

This White guy can Jump!!!

I think he'll be like a Chris Anderson with more of and offensive game.

comments like this confuse me, well actually they don't, everyone is enamored with the HS kids because they can always say "He has star potential" even after 10 years in the league people will be saying the same thing.. "He still has star potential". I mean how many of us have seen Blatche play at all. I can tell you I have seen Lee play and Robinson and frye. Robinson is a fantastic player, a great athlete and a smart player, guy played corner for the washington football program, enough said.. Frye is a player, I would not be suprised if he outplays Bogut.. Lee IMO would run circles around blatche and Taft who made a fool of himself. This kid is not just a hustle player, he can do it all and finish on the break. to call these picks dumb don't make sense to me..

Sorry to break the bad news, but David Lee DOES NOT have a 42" vertical.

From the Chicago PreDraft measurements...
32 1/2" Vertical.

ah, that doesn't matter, all that matters to me is that lee 99% of the times jumps higher than the guy trying to block his shot...

What I remember from David Lee is he won the HS dunk contest a few yrs back. He is very athletic and has potential as he seems to have many developing skills to go along with his atheltism and hustle. He is a guy who has the ability to work his way into making an impact.

Anyone who was willing to draft Hakeem Warrick with #8 shouldn't be mad at drafting Lee with #30.

I like this draft because Isiah has basically stayed true to the plan and the system he wants. He wants to run, he wants athletism and length, and people who bust there ass. Richardson, Frye, Robinson, Lee all fit that mold. All these guy can workout huge in a good system and with a good coach.

He just brought in a lot of youth in one season killing the age issue we use to complain about so much. I don't know if any of these guys are gonna work but its dumb to blast Isiah about the draft with these guys not even playing one single game. All most of want is a plan in place as for us to follow through and he did. In my opinion we to a big step in the right direction though we still have things to clean up like the PF glut, Penny, TT, & Houston. But we are now pretty deep at on the perimeter. Marbs/Nate, Q/Craw, TT/Reezy.

OMG, a 32 vert for a 6 9 player is good!

He is not a guard who needs to have a 40+ vert to be considered an outstanding athlete.

This is just pissin me of. People need to learn the basics on what it means to be athletic for an NBA player.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?
