Fultz is making $17 million in the final season of his contract. He's continued to be injury-prone while with Orlando and has appeared in only eight games this season. Fultz has been on my Knicks wish list for a while. I wouldnt trade him for Grimes, we would still need a player to fill his role. I would sit him until April, May. Offer Fournier and a 2nd rounder in a deal. See if he will take a 2 year deal to stick around. Fultz's days of commanding a big paycheck are probably over. If Derrick Rose can come back from his extensive injury history, maybe Fultz can in NY as well. If its not too big an asking price |

Lots of reasonable talk out there (ex Fred Katz) that Knicks DON’T want expiring deals but want to bring in a good player that they would have the option to trade if opportunity arises this summer for better player in larger package. One of the perceived reasons for the Murray interest. Seeing more and more of this in the league where expiring deals seem to have less value today. At least that’s the way I’m understanding things. |

Detroit unloaded $$ to Washington. NY to Detroit the year before to nab Jalen. On the whole, I may agree with you but the fact that most all teams are operating above the cap as well as teams needing to hit the salary cap at beginning of year has changed the landscape. I’ve just been hearing more and more talk about teams coveting multi year deals that they may be able to churn but again depending on team’s situation. |

Why I mentioned the second rounder. They dont take on more years in a trade, and they get a draft pick coming. Not to mention, Fournier gets traded back to the Magic. If his game were to come back, that would seem like the place for it to happen. Interesting points on the declining value of expiring contracts. Did not know that. |
