You will be fine. Just don’t schedule any important stuff or work when you get the second one. Both Moderna and Pfizer tend to hit a little stronger on the side effects of the second dose.

Second shot of Pfizer booked for next week! Had no ill effects after the first dose, other than a slightly sore arm for 2 days (felt like a bruise) where I'd been injected

I got the Sputnik V several months ago, now quarantined at home with sick wife (she does not believe in vaccines, thinks they are dangerous) for a whole week, and so far nothing. Feels good to feel invincible.

Russians have had free access to the vaccine for four months now, but no one wants it, they do not believe in vaccines, think they are dangerous. Trying to get my mind around this.

Same here. Second Pfizer shot booked for two weeks from now. First shot I had the same reaction, just a sore arm for a couple of days. Not the whole arm, just the location of the injection. That was the only difference I noticed compared to the regular flu shot. I was told staying very hydrated before the shot really helps.

Yeah, I genuinely don't understand how people who are against the vaccines think this pandemic is going to end without them- are they wanting everyone to get covid, or are they wanting everyone else to get the vaccine so they don't have to take any of the risk at all? I don't get how they get anxious about the vaccine, but don't get anxious about covid

Any news on when the Knicks players are getting their vaccines? (I still think they got them secretly before the season- Rose is the only player to test for covid and he joined the team in the middle of the season!)

Conspiracies aside, I thought that was strictly forbidden, as it should have been.

It was strictly forbidden, but I always assume if you’re rich enough there was probably a way of getting it early- seem to remember Dubai were offering it for $40,000 or something.

Of course it’s more likely the Knicks and Lakers and other teams might just have been lucky/ extra careful, in which case I do hope they get vaccinated soon, some players have been badly effected by it

I’d be okay with NBA players getting bumped up a little in line for the vaccine. Watching sports is good for the mental health of many.

Not hockey players though. I mean, does anybody really consider hockey entertainment?

I might not be the best qualified to write covid policies.

It is this whole notion of "I do not want to put something foreign inside my body". Well, hello, that's what you do every day when you eat and drink. Plus wishful thinking "I am special, I am not like other people, the disease won't stick to me, etc." And then it is like "why me, why anyone"? Plus our general distrust of the government, and for good reason, I must say. But here the government has offered something good for a change, why refuse it?

I actually have encountered a large number of people who were originally against taking it but ended up taking it or want to.

There is actually a decent number of people who say “ehh I’ll be part of that small percentage that doesn’t take it” not realizing that a lot of people are thinking like them.

The encouraging news is that in NY, a million people got shots, last week, I believe. I’m not sure if that’s because it was Spring Break and people had more time. It’s a good sign anyway.

I kinda get the reluctance early on. The speed that these vaccines were rolled out did make me nervous so I was more than willing to wait a bit before getting mine. Had no desire to be first in line. However, with more positive reports coming out regularly, I think the reasons for not getting the vaccine are becoming less and less justifiable. I definitely worry more about the risk of Covid vs. the risk of the vaccine.

Yeah, I don’t remember who I said it to recently but with each passing day, the “there wasn’t enough time” argument becomes less valid. Not only did the trials start over a year ago and not only have they already had the blueprint for the vaccine because of SARS, but millions and millions of people successfully took it now.

If anti-vaccers refuse to make a contribution towards this, then they don’t deserve to complain when people slowly (or maybe not so slowly) stop social distancing and wearing masks in public. It’s going to start happening and covid will still be around for those people. They’ll have nobody but themselves to blame

Ha, though I think baseball is even worse- I just don’t understand how people can watch it- it’s like watching people having picnics in a park, throwing the occasional frisby. And there are so many games!- how do people not lose their minds following a whole season?!
