Trying to get my mind around this.
Yeah, I genuinely don't understand how people who are against the vaccines think this pandemic is going to end without them- are they wanting everyone to get covid, or are they wanting everyone else to get the vaccine so they don't have to take any of the risk at all? I don't get how they get anxious about the vaccine, but don't get anxious about covid
It is this whole notion of "I do not want to put something foreign inside my body". Well, hello, that's what you do every day when you eat and drink. Plus wishful thinking "I am special, I am not like other people, the disease won't stick to me, etc." And then it is like "why me, why anyone"? Plus our general distrust of the government, and for good reason, I must say. But here the government has offered something good for a change, why refuse it?
I actually have encountered a large number of people who were originally against taking it but ended up taking it or want to.
There is actually a decent number of people who say “ehh I’ll be part of that small percentage that doesn’t take it” not realizing that a lot of people are thinking like them.
The encouraging news is that in NY, a million people got shots, last week, I believe. I’m not sure if that’s because it was Spring Break and people had more time. It’s a good sign anyway.
