i cant believe what a disaster the nba is. the last 4 seconds of regulation were just god aweful and bushleague. how does dwight howard not get that call w .5 left when verejao was basically raping him as d12 was trying to catch the inbounds pass. no foul call? boy the nba really wants to see the cavs go to the finals. i am happy that orlando played as well as they did in the ot to get the win. found myself routing for them. the refs and nba did all they could to ensure a cavs win and orlando just played through it and won. rashard lewis huge at the end for orlando. this series is over.
also, lebron showed his weaknesses last nite a bit. although, not totally his fault. the magic really expose the cavs' inability to guard taller more physical players. and i think that frustrated lebron at the end when he realized that he had no one else to pass to that wanted to make a shot. and thats why we saw basically 1 on 5 for the last 2 minutes of the game and into ot. lebron cant do it alone and he relaizes he cant go to the finals, let alone win a chip w this current cast of characters. btw - mo williams needs to STFU, or minimum, show up to a game before he starts spouting off s*it. also, you would think that after 4 very similar experiences, mike brown would have made some adjustments out there to get other players off instead of the o'le 'pass it to lebron and move out of the way' play. You would have to agree that when two players fall out of bounds right in front of the official tangled up something should be call. Lebron slips to the ground taking down Pietrus right before and they were quick to blow the whistle. It isn't consistent from that stand point alone. THe howard non call I am ok with as they really got tangled up. Howard tried to jump over him.
The "touching" of lebron is getting obnoxious. He is getting too many calls! |

Posted by Pharzeone:Posted by sebstar:Posted by jimimou: That's just it - same kind of scenario - but the refs obviously didn't want to let LeBron lose on a no call so they blew the whistle. And they didn't want one team to win on a questionable call. Really - the key question is had LeBron been the player pushed out with .5, game tied, would they have blown the whistle? Probably not. But maybe. And, during the regular season, would they have blown the whistle? I'm thinking they would have. Two different standards for regular season vs. play offs. Too much inconsistency. Worse than last year - and that is both series right now. |

how can people say the refs are working this one for the Cavs when we have yet another game howard should've fouled out before the 4th ended.
The noncall on him pushing that Cavs guard to the ground while going for the loose ball with 4 seconds left followed by the moving pick to free Lewis for the 3 on the ensuing play was refs got paid officiating at its finest. Howard was already screening Varajeo and then he sticks out his leg and trips up Ben Wallace to free up Lewis, and right in front of the ref...it was a great shot by Lewis but it was an awful (by awful I mean extremely biased) job of officiating in the Magic's favor. i can't tell if the refs are biased or if they're just really horrible at their jobs.

Posted by McK1: That's a good point but I thought it was a simple pick that could have been fought though. I think it look as bad as it did because it was a big post defender trying to fight through a pick. That's why I don't get why Brown had Wallace on Lewis.
