magic in 5, great game again. howard is living up to his reckless self-promotion.

magic are not closing out cleveland in cleveland. the refs will see to that. this series isn't over. magic will basically have a must win in game 6. i'm rooting for them, but it's an uphill battle with the refs and lebron.

we must remember that this win tonight is maybe the sweep win if that lebron 3 doesn't go in in game 2.

edit:

they outplayed them for 4 games in a row, 8 of last 10 when including last season against the cavs. they outplayed them 2 in cleveland and 2 in orlando. no shot for cavs.

hope orl stays mad/hungry or they could get blown out in game 5. no need for them to assume this is over and then play like it.

Howard might also be out the next game if his flagrant foul (taunting) is not overturned. At least that is what I remember being said after that foul. Little chance of Orlando beating the Cavs on the road without Howard.

g, that Dwight Howard sure is overrated.

winning 3 straight is gonna be near impossible but if Lebron really wants to take on that mantle of being "The Chosen One", then he needs to be able to will his teams to victory when they're down in a series just like Jordan used to be able to do... don't recall if MJ ever brought his teams back from a 3-1 deficit in a 7 game series or not tho... winning it all next year will be CLE's only chance of keeping Lebron in CLE if he gets eliminated by the Magic this year.

1992-93 bulls vs knicks... it was down 2-0 so it wasnt the same. though the starks dunk had me thinking this was the year they get by jordan.

the officiating and the techincal and flagrant points and everything has really gotten out of control. the league office controls the game way too much just let the players play.

the magic are a very intriguing team. nobody can match up with dwight, SVG is an excellent coach and their strategy of spread the floor and shoot 3s is fantastic. turkoglu, lewis, pietrus are all good players -- i can't imagine how good they'd be with nelson.

that being said never count lebron out. (mike brown is showing his colors as a real fool if they lose he's gotta go

Yeah which brings his total to 6. The NBA may remove it though. You can't get a flagrant foul for taunting only a tech. You may pick up both though if you punch a guy in the face while screaming "you ain't no skills b!tch!" I am still waiting on Sheed to accomplish this amazing feat. I really hope its him. He deserves the honor.

i cant believe what a disaster the nba is. the last 4 seconds of regulation were just god aweful and bushleague. how does dwight howard not get that call w .5 left when verejao was basically raping him as d12 was trying to catch the inbounds pass. no foul call? boy the nba really wants to see the cavs go to the finals. i am happy that orlando played as well as they did in the ot to get the win. found myself routing for them. the refs and nba did all they could to ensure a cavs win and orlando just played through it and won. rashard lewis huge at the end for orlando. this series is over.

also, lebron showed his weaknesses last nite a bit. although, not totally his fault. the magic really expose the cavs' inability to guard taller more physical players. and i think that frustrated lebron at the end when he realized that he had no one else to pass to that wanted to make a shot. and thats why we saw basically 1 on 5 for the last 2 minutes of the game and into ot. lebron cant do it alone and he relaizes he cant go to the finals, let alone win a chip w this current cast of characters.

btw - mo williams needs to STFU, or minimum, show up to a game before he starts spouting off s*it. also, you would think that after 4 very similar experiences, mike brown would have made some adjustments out there to get other players off instead of the o'le 'pass it to lebron and move out of the way' play.

Muppet Head was boxing out Howard. No matter what you think who deserves a call. You would have to agree that when two players fall out of bounds right in front of the official tangled up something should be call. Lebron slips to the ground taking down Pietrus right before and they were quick to blow the whistle. It isn't consistent from that stand point alone.

THe howard non call I am ok with as they really got tangled up. Howard tried to jump over him.

The "touching" of lebron is getting obnoxious. He is getting too many calls!

That's just it - same kind of scenario - but the refs obviously didn't want to let LeBron lose on a no call so they blew the whistle. And they didn't want one team to win on a questionable call.

Really - the key question is had LeBron been the player pushed out with .5, game tied, would they have blown the whistle? Probably not. But maybe.

And, during the regular season, would they have blown the whistle? I'm thinking they would have.

Two different standards for regular season vs. play offs. Too much inconsistency. Worse than last year - and that is both series right now.

how can people say the refs are working this one for the Cavs when we have yet another game howard should've fouled out before the 4th ended.

The noncall on him pushing that Cavs guard to the ground while going for the loose ball with 4 seconds left followed by the moving pick to free Lewis for the 3 on the ensuing play was refs got paid officiating at its finest.

Howard was already screening Varajeo and then he sticks out his leg and trips up Ben Wallace to free up Lewis, and right in front of the ref...it was a great shot by Lewis but it was an awful (by awful I mean extremely biased) job of officiating in the Magic's favor.

i can't tell if the refs are biased or if they're just really horrible at their jobs.

That's a good point but I thought it was a simple pick that could have been fought though. I think it look as bad as it did because it was a big post defender trying to fight through a pick. That's why I don't get why Brown had Wallace on Lewis.

LET’S DO THIS ON THURSDAY NIGHT

Whew!!!!!! Are ya’ll as exhausted as I am after that killer game? That was a gut-check of all gut-check games for us and the Magic came through again? What are they gonna say now?

We’re so, so close to playing for that championship in the Finals, but now is no time to celebrate because really we haven’t done anything yet. We’ve won three games, but you don’t get anything for that. If you think winning last night was hard, t rying to close out the Cavs at The Q will be super hard and we know it. That’s a good team that won 66 games and they aren’t going down without a fight.

Speaking of fighting, how about those tackles that Varejao put on me a couple of times during the game??? And I’m the one who gets the technical foul!!!! I was just playing with emotion. You get in the game and you score a big bucket, you let your emotions take over. I wasn’t taunting Varejao or anything. My thing was, it was a tough play, he grabbed me around the neck and I made the shot, so hopefully they will look at it.

And on that final lob play, he rode me out of bounds, but there was nothing called. I just feel like if that had been a certain guy on the other team, the whistle would have been blowing.

This thing with the T’s is bugging me pretty bad right no w, but I can’t let it take me away from my focus on helping us get the job done. I can’t believe that I’ve had six of them called on me so far, and some of them have just been crazy. I’m not a dirty player, I don’t talk a lot of trash and I don’t curse the officials, so I can’t figure out why I keep getting them again and again.

Hopefully, the league office will look at this one and realize it was just the heat of the game. There was no taunting. I’ve already had to miss one game because of my elbows, and I made a promise to myself that I’d never have that happen again with my elbows. The thought of me having to miss another game is killing me, so I’ve got to keep my mouth shut and my elbows down.

We’re getting contributions from so many guys now – Shard, Turk, MP, C-Lee and my man Skip to My Lou. That wasn’t Rafer Alston out there tonight, that was professional street baler, Skip To My Lou!!!!

We just feel like when we’re playing like we did last night, getting help from everybody, moving the ball, running and playing defense, that we can beat anybody.

We’ve got to close this baby out now. It won’t be easy, but we feel we can get it done against anybody if we just play our game.

I’ll be ready and my guys will be ready, so let’s go do this.

Holla. — DWIGHT
