Agreed. Everyone got a chance to eat. Looked like they had rip curls running for OG. Got Hart some corner 3s. Bridges was getting more ball handling opportunities early. Mitch got some passes that he couldnt handle, but probably wasn’t expecting them. And KAT was fed in the post and given green light from three. Brunson got his closer role. It felt better. Even if they had a tough time vs the Celts D, it felt like the right way to play. And it should work well against Indiana since they lack the length Boston has.

I would say Thibs outcoached Joe but it wasnt drastic. End of the day we executed in crunch time and simply played better. Both coaches tried different things with some success and won games. Down 0-2 and losing Tatum down 1-3 equals "not your year"

to be fair this is Boston. We are running a lot of the same action, but Boston was spent. We got a lot of good looks for misses early in the series, especially from the wings. Boston played the elite defense they are known for an it showed. Knicks ALSO played elite defense and that showed as well. Boston shot their load in game 5. Once the Knicks started hitting shots AND beating them up on the boards and in the paint it was over early. Phucking thing of beauty

If he is reading now, I’d like to see a 4-1 motion offense originating with KAT out of the high post under the directive to read the defense and make right play - not just shoot. Zen like Jokic.

Hart screening for OG out of the corner. Rip curl while Brunson simultaneously rotates out of the weak side for a possible handoff. Get OG in motion off the curl and if that doesn’t work revert to Brunson’s double screen with KAT pulling out for the “pop”. Bridges in the weak side corner should be trusted to read the play and timely cut to either get to the rim or clear out weak side corner to let KAT dominate that side of the floor if Brunson picks up a double from Hart’s man.

Hart should always be bring the ball upon transition.

motion offense... you want our guys who are already playing a ton to run around more? How about we give our guys a breather and let a couple of best iso basketball players get some easy buckets so we can continue to fly around on defense. Why? Cause it's more fun for you to watch? We have two of the highest gravity players in the league and you want to dish it around and have guys running around.

They DO do that... late in games after time outs with like 40 seconds to go

Yes? Mostly cause I think they have the personnel for it. I think it is the best version of them. Like an all time NBA best team version of the Knicks. Like a 73 kind of team with KAT playing a more talented role as Jokic. Brunson playing a version of Steph Curry and then a ridiculous 2x Wingstop 3&D two way set and a triple double machine Swiss Army Knife of a player/rebounder?

I am not happy with 51 wins. I think it is 29 wins under its potential.

ISO is the opposite of easy buckets. Try to pass the ball off of movement ( ball travels faster than a player, so it's the defenders that should not get a " breather" when 4 ppl are resting and only 1 guy actively defending. This way we can go to our ISO , late in games, anyway and easier buckets early will give them more stamina to ISO late.

you could revolutionize the game! Beating a favorable matchup 1-1 with space to work in is kinda a thing.
