My biggest fear is that most people are going to refuse to take it. There was a point where everyone I asked said they wouldn’t take it.

It’s a delicate subject because while the situation still seems critical so taking it is almost a no-brainer, the lack of trust in the rushed process to develop and test it make any doubt reasonable.

We definitely need it and I really hope the best and safest version is the one they get out and to as many people as possible. The Oxford one seems very promising, especially for most places in the world that may not be able to store vaccines at such low temperatures as others.

I think they definitely need to start a campaign to make people feel more secure about taking the vaccine. Make very clear how they prepared it, how much has it been tested and how secure it is when it’s available to the public. I don’t think the campaign to wear masks was done effectively which made others go against it, no matter how illogical doing that was.

To me that’s fine, that’s their choice, that’s their consequences. I think enough people will take one especially if it means easier travel abroad, gigs, events etc

I was worried about this- think a small study found lung damage in some people suffering from some long COVID symptoms like breathlessness, think they’re planning a bigger study to look into it.

It's so bizarre how invisible these deaths have been kept- we're looking at, what 400,000 deaths by January/February? That's absolutely horrific, but it seems to have been kept completely our of sight- it's surreal

With that being said...I am not sure why those GOP senators on the bubble all won their re-elections...Graham...Tillis....Ernst....Collins...etc

They should have been defeated.....because this grinding the gears of government for political purposes has to end..

The U.S. has suffered because Trump didn't want to do the "heavy lifting," so he put everything on the states, and pinned all his hope on therapeutic cures or vaccines, while he downplayed the deaths. He also gave the GOP governors of certain states tacit approval to downplay the disease, while also inciting supporters to confront and disobey those governors trying to do the right thing, no matter how painful they were.

Trump didn't want to use his "political capital" trying to encourage his people to do things he knew they didn't want to do...Add to this the cynicism we discovered when it was reported Kushner (w/ Trump's approval, I would assume) scrapped early plans to address Covid because at the time only "blue" states were hot spots.

I look at the world and U.S. Covid numbers every day, and it's truly embarrassing to see how our states and the nation are doing.
