It’s amazing you hear KAT haters act like he’s worse than Eddy Curry on defense. 2nd in the nba in rebounds and changes shots

Nothing like a playoff game at the Garden! Highly recommend section 204 standing room only! Beer right in the area with little to no lines and no need to get up for other people! Great view too and a lot cheaper!

Not a perfect win but we'll take it! Defense was a lot better in the second half before the Hawks hit those 3 threes and gave me PTSD and a panic attack. Felt like Indiana game one ECF for a second but clutch FT's by Hart to seal the win! KAT was a monster! Still annoyed it took so long to get him going but he dominated at both ends! 3 blocks!! Hawks have no answer for him! Feed him and let him eat!

Brunson was alright. He went nuclear in the first half and it looked like one of those 40 points or more games but he slowed down when he got hit in the nuts by McCollum. Still finished with 28. I didn't like his floor game all that much tbh. Took too many bad shots and it felt like he held onto the ball too long or started the play a little too late in the shot clock. TRUST YOUR TEAMMATES JB!!

Clarkson gave us some great minutes! Big shots by Deuce in the 4th! Mikal and OG were solid. Shamet was off and Mitch missed some rebounds (entire team did!) and only went 1/4 from the line. He needs to hit at least half of those. Also didn't like that lineup to start the 2nd and 4th with no Brunson or KAT in there. Need one of them in at all times! Deuce, Clarkson, Shamet, OG and Mitch doesn't have enough scoring.

Zebras made their usual ****ty biased calls but we expected that. Goble and Acosta stink. McCollum slowed down in the second half but he's a problem. Better job tonight on NWA. He was obviously a key in the gameplan. Dyson Daniels cannot shoot! I hate that former cHeat Gabe Vincent and his stupid face! Dirty player! Got to clean up those offensive rebounds and some of those switches that led to open threes.

But 1 down, 15 to go!!

I expect they'll be sharper the next game.

Knocked the rust off after a week off

If they tighten it up a little more there is no reason for ATL to win a game from them

Great win. Atlanta played well but lack of depth matters. Knicks had to play well. Good start. Happy for Towns. Keep it going.

he's made a big turnaround there, not sure if its just effort or knowing the scheme better, and part of it I think is he's happier and more engaged on D when he's playing well offensively. So it's both clicking right now. He missed a few bunnies but he's taking better shots. He's no longer just barrelling in from the 3pt line to the rim and charging over everyone. Now he's pulling up and much more under control.

would like to see him shoot more 3's, he's around 40% for his career but he's fallen in love a bit too much with the pump fake and drive.

OG almost looked a bit hurt since he drove in the 1st quarter and fell. I cringe watching him play knowing how much we need him. Always waiting for that shoe to drop with him.

Mikal... mediocre box score but he was all over the place defensively last night. He's the ultimate glue guy and just a winning player.

Mitch didnt get a single OREB, I dont think thats happened all season, so we won this game despite ATL getting 7 more FGA's than us and winning the OREB's, they kind of beat us at our own game. I don't think that's something we'll see again.

I didn’t like our rebounding in the first half. Got better second half when Hawks starting 5 got gassed. Mitch needs to start hitting free throws

IDGAF about hero ball if he plays like this

Yeah, when we built that lead I was thinking to myself:"Maybe just keep going with Brunson on the bench? If he gets the rest of the game off because we are blowing them out I have no problem with that. He did the damage early. We are playing team basketball and that's what got us the lead."

Towns was the difference maker today with perfect passes within the system. Yeah he threw it too hard a couple of times but that is a price I am very happy to pay. Even if half of those passes result in turnovers( being super generous) the other half is easy scoring opportunities that get guys going and allow them to shoot with confidence down the line. This is invaluable and the stuff of Champions. Towns played awesome defense today too, I love that. Not fouling, not reaching in.

Brunson......Love him, need him, he is the heart and soul. But crossing the half-court with 16 seconds on the clock EVERY time, then dribbling the crap out if the ball until there is less than 10 seconds on the shot clock is not winning basketball. F that.If it's the last freaking possession I can see the logic. But the whole 4th quarter after he came into the game? Bro, you are Soo much more than just that. If you are a threat to pass you are so much more difficult to defend. But that's evolution as a player and I am extremely excited to have another chance to see a great player try to become a generational one( Melo was my first chance and with Ewing I was too green to even recognize)

i think we gotta remember Brunson is one of the best closers in the game, but teams make runs more than ever in todays game with the pace and 3 ball. we were up 21 at one point? but i knew ATL would make a run and they did, desperate teams usually do and it's normal to take your foot off the gas and go in preservation of the lead mode more than anything. we still closed it out.

I was hoping Brown would not mess with what was working. The Hawks were struggling. Probably because their game plan didn't account for the lineup we had out there. Why not just ride it until it shows some cracks?

Instead he Thibs it.

Luckily things worked out.

Our best actions of the year were with Kat near/at the nail/elbow but yesterday Kat kept catching the ball +25 feet from hoop which negates a bunch of **** and more importantly ends up with Kat driving from 25 feet out.

Kills me they don't fix that and get him to post closer. Also very little pick and roll - a few pops but Jalen chucking far too much early while Kat/OG getting virtually zero looks. Exactly what Hawks/teams want despite Jalen getting his 20 in Q1.

Deuce - back to back 3's. You were saying?

Deuce does play like crap a bunch but the 3's were nice and I liked his ball pressure (something he's dropped off with over years).

There has to be a happy medium where he can be himself and still serve up his bros

Yep - we were absolutely cooking them with that unit but Mike can't help himself but to put Jalen in and game instantly turned for a bit there - kills me when they just pull guys who are on a great run and NOT tired.

Yep - no reason to change that group at that point other than to not insult Brunson.
