Good idea but I'd be a No on this. It's a depth thing. Even right now (Deuce/Shamet hurt), your depth would be Hart, Clarkson and ? Zero PG off bench too. Prime Thibs rotations of 38+ MPG for lots of dudes

And if a starter goes down for any length of time, especially at the bigs positions, you are really decimated.

Fair point. and I am not a big Giannis fan, but I am really not big on Towns. I like the idea of Towns skillset more than I like Towns the player. For depth you can bring back some of the summer league minimums (Alex Len servicable backup C, Garrison Mathews or Matt Ryan, 3 PG's currently available are Spencer Dinwiddie, Markell Fultz, and Patty Mills that I would be interested in. That may bring you the impact-though not style of play as Kolek.

I really feel we only lose some depth at C anyway. Losing Mitch and Towns. If you are going all in, Im not baking on Kolek whose summer league sucked, or Padiet who IDK what is going on. this team already has too many developmental guys (Kolek (inconsistent summer leagues), Huk (actually like the guys alot), Diawara (unknown but looks decent) ) that get semi regular minutes. Championship teams have a prospect or two that they bring along slowly until they contribute, but put much of the responsibility on known quantities. Len to me is a known quantity as as Mills and Dinwiddie and to a lesser extent Fultz. Matthews and Ryan are eh, but valuable for their shooing but there are other FA's currently available that may have more of an impact

It will convert as the likely no. 1 in the second round (I think second round follows record not the draft). And a high second round pick next season.

Those aren't really great assets for a rebuilding team but for a capped out challenger looking to avoid the more onerous provisions of the CBA (ahem), it is extremely valuable- maybe, maybe even better than the no. 9 pick which would require a set salary who draft history tells us is barely an odds on favorite to sign a second contract.

In this scenario I thought of the Washington pick as a second rounder(s), which is why I included so many younger players.

But is it relevant to a potential Giannis trade?

He's definitely a negative asset, and one that might help MIL win a few more games which they wouldn't want.

He is redundant with Deuce but also an incredible upgrade over Kolek, worlds better although I havent watched him a ton.

You could pair Deuce and Alvarado. Or start Deuce in a pinch. If Brunson misses time, the drop off and replacement is much easier.

I don't know what it would take to get Alvarado but NOP also in a position to lose him for nothing if they don't trade him.
