Didn’t see enough to justify drafting him, knowing about long term injury issues. Guess we’ll see what the big deal is next season.

They used like the 56th pick on a guy that would have gone 1st round if healthy. Good bet regardless of outcome.

Yeah, you're lucky if you don't wind up with a guy who gets cut in training camp. The McCullar pick was basically a scratch off ticket.

Maybe first round talent defensively. But McCullar was attempting layups like a high schooler off of steals. From the clips I watched. If he was more of a prodigy on offense, I’d get it.

He’s almost exactly a Josh Hart clone at 6’7. I really don’t understand the extent of his injury, at all. But if they get that kind of player with the 56th pick, it’s a win.

In terms of offense, before his injury, he was finding his offensive rhythm.

McCuller is the type of player you look back and say "Dam, ****ing knicks always get lucky!!"
We used a late 2nd round pick and knew the deal.
if this kid can crack the rotation off the bench next year as the wing we need, then its fantastic.
Maybe he never heals and its a blow pick.
Its blurry and maybe FO is thinking the real window is next year and beyond. Maybe.

I’d go as far as saying they don’t expect anything from him this year and wouldn’t worry about his availability til next or at all.

The one thing I'll say is a lot of games at home, and the travel itself is pretty minimal given 2/4 away games are Brooklyn and Philly. The heaviness of schedule is unrelenting for the next 2 weeks, but they get a fair amount of time off the last half of the month. After that long time off against the Hawks we managed to reel off 8 straight.

Includes playoffs?

Even if not he was over 30ppg after January last year and even higher than that after Randle went down. And I think he, unlike other stars, has only missed 2-3 regular season games max in that span

Knicks were 6th in offensive rating and 11th in net rating in 22-23 during the third quarter, per NBA.com
