![]() I won't necessarily say the Knicks will be fine (they probably will, though!)... but switching on D is hard. We have the tools to do it, but we're not consistently crisp enough. The micro-delays in coverage right now leave the offensive players with room to work.
We could just avoid switching... but that won't get us to our max potential. We've been giving up a lot of points in spite of our tools. Plus... given our offensive tools, we're not firing on all cylinders - we need time to get a feel of when to take it to the defense, vs just firing the open 3. Modern analytics says take the open 3 when it's there, esp when the defense isn't set. But it also means that the defense doesn't have to work on that possession and they're fresh to attack when they get the ball back. “That was two, two from the heart.” - John Starks
