We'll see how he gets to camp and if there is a path but I'd say at best guess he is 3rd string to start. Root for all our guys to succeed!

I don't think I am trading Randle for less than JJJ. For me, that's about positional size. I'd roll JJJ into the C and run Brunson, DDV, Bridges, Anunoby and JJJ. Even then, not sure who gets the picks in that trade, but I think Randle might fit better next to Edey than JJJ. And that team could use his professionalism. We get younger albeit less offensively skilled and better defensively with better positional size for that salary.

Does JJJ injuries and games missed of concern?
Got this bad "Yeah but" Antonio Mcdyess vibe with this guy. CAA, pops a coach, etc......All good but durabilty is not there.

Apparently he has been playing well for the Magic. The Magic have a bit of a jam in their front court so I don’t think they’ll be able to sign him.

NBA Summer League: Former Wahoo Jay Huff Putting on a Show for the Magic

The Orlando Magic are off to a strong 2-0 start to the 2024 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas and former Virginia big man Jay Huff is a big reason for their success. The seven-footer just wrapped up his third season in the professional ranks and he's looked the part so far in the Summer League, seeming like a man among boys on many occasions. Through two games, Huff is averaging 14.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and one block per game and has delivered a collection of highlight-reel dunks.

In Orlando's opening 106-79 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, Huff scored 16 points on 7/9 shooting and recorded six rebounds, two assists and a block. He was +20 in 23 minutes on the floor and threw down a few dunks, including this reverse jam down the lane.

In the Magic's second game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, Huff had 13 points on 5/11 shooting with a three-pointer, six rebounds, one assists, one steal, and one block. He did commit eight personal fouls (you get 10 before you foul out in Summer League games), but he was a staggering +22 in 25 minutes. The next best player in terms of +/- was +9.

The Pelicans led by 10 points at halftime and by seven at the end of the third quarter. It was Jay Huff who helped spark the comeback, scoring seven points and assisting on another basket in a fourth quarter in which he played all 10 minutes. The Magic won that fourth quarter 31-19 to earn a 91-86 victory.

Dwight’s rep is based mostly on his 2012 season with the lakers which was a tumultuous crapshow that got national attention. He didn’t get along with an aging Kobe. Howard was supposed to be the next great Lakers Center and he wasn’t that guy.

His last nba season was 2 years ago he averaged 6 and 6 in 16 minutes per game. We have history signing old Centers before in their late 30’s to give us Center depth. Herb, Rasheed Wallace, Camby, Kurt Thomas — those moves were all fairly effective

Yup, most of those old timers retired after that season. Most of the winning was done in the first half, before Father Time started kicking ass. Kidd went 0-for what in the playoffs?

and I replied that it really was not all that effective. I backed up my reasoning.
Thing is those old guys backed up Tyson in the one year he was an Allstar!!!!
Thomas was a 4.
We got third stringers. Knicks need a back up that might have to start if Mitch breaks.
