Good for NY as Dougie Fresh was a productive and efficient player for the Spurs last season but I'm not sure outside of the common language with Wembanyama what San Antonio gets out of it. Fournier's only value right now is trade fodder for a team looking to get out of future luxury tax payments or as an expiring contract that Knicks can add draft picks to for a better piece.

Who? Never heard of them. I mean we desperately needed a PG and floor spacing…..I sometimes wonder how much influence WWW had on decisions early on. I think WWW and Thibs don’t get along much and if it’s true I totally get it. There’s no way they talked to Thibs about those signings. I mean come on, read the room. I’ll never forget Thibs playing Kemba 40+ minutes and then Kemba was broken. He didn’t make the same mistake with D Rose. Rose was his guy. I always cringed every time Rose hit the floor.

Fast forward to today and you can see Rose easily fixed his mistakes and the roster is improved. I’m glad we didn’t sign Lonzo Ball. The FA class of 2021/22 was pretty meh.

Total guess work but I don't think Thibs had much say in Toppin or Q being drafted. He had more say in year one's free agent signings but the team wasn't giving much more then one years. So Thibs had say but the potential choices were very limited. I think Thibs was likely on board with Evan (I anyone is Thib's boy its Steve Clifford) but totally blind sided by Kemba and Cam. I also think he had a lot of say with Grimes and Deuce and won the war with WWW.

Thibs was giddier than a kid on Christmas at the presser introducing Kemba. He couldn't wait to get him on the team and punish the East with a Kemba- Rose one-two punch.

Knicks prob holding out til all the other trades and such shake out, could be room to get in on action.

Or maybe Toronto comes to their senses on OG ask.

I can see Knicks holding onto Fournier til trade deadline and that would make some sense. McDermott adds nothing really.

Whose minutes is he taking? Holy crud, McDermott is 31 y.o. already. Where did the time go

McDermott would get the scraps when Randle sits as a more legit spread 4 vs what Obi provided. Issue is Dougie is stinky on D and certainly not a rim protection option.

Also - thought Knicks want to use Fournier $ in bigger package but trading him for Doug would reduce said $ we could package in trade.

I get going small with the 2nd unit, but the 2nd unit would be too small and not athletic enough.

I hope if we don't make a bigger trade we just stand pat and go small at the backup 4. If we add a backup 4 to take Obi's minutes, we truly have too much of a minutes crunch with our young crop that will end in a drama filled season amongst players and fans alike.

If Hart or RJ are not absorbing those 15 Obi minutes at the backup 4, there isn't enough food for IQ, Grimes, DD, RJ, Hart all to eat.

Lol, it’s like talking to AI. ‘To rag on Leon Rose please push 1. To trade Julius Randle please push 2. To take credit for signing Jalen Brunson please press 3.

Your a good guy 👍. But if you think I can beat a dead horse, just watch. You will see a horse beaten after death, then pulverized, then the ashes, harvested for DNA to clone a new horse, then animated as in Frankenstein, be beaten to death and repeat. Anyway it's all good. It's the way of Sports since Mike and the Mad Dog, Skip Bayless, ESPN, no one seems to think sports can be discussed without some polarized angle. Real men have to argue all the time, I guess. Maybe I am low T or some Beta or something.

Rookie I don't get it. I am not so smart, Intelligence is artificial to me my brother. When I'm overbearing hold me up. I'm a humble man, may depend on you from time to time.

LOL, I wasn't talking about you. I was trying to make a joke about AI (artificial intelligence). Like when you try to call, say the cable company, and you get a robot message. You get robot options and robot answers. There is no real interaction and the response is always the same. Anyway, if you have to explain a joke it probably wasn't very clever or funny in the first place. I guess I failed at humor. I didn't mean any criticism towards you

It's all 👍👍👍😊😊😊. I am self deprecating. Like when Rodney Dangerfield said " I got home early from work. My wife greeted me at the door in sexy lingerie. She then put on her coat and said " I was just leaving "

yea D I fully agree, I thought dougie would be good for us at the stretch 4, and he actually learned to defend at least a bit. But at this point playing RJ/Hart in those minutes we should be fine. Even a smaller PF will defend at the Obi level, so it makes sense in that regard. And as it was pointed out at the deadline we lose 5m for trade purposes.

I know i'm waiting to see if this roster is "as is" how Thibs handles the minutes, I really wouldn't want to be in his shoes, but he's probably the best at it for what we have.
