Jalen gets the game ball not just for playing well but keeping us organized and confident we could winFor some reason my favorite plays were with RJ when he was slow and methodical when a smaller guy was guarding him. Julius should take notes on that because i suspect he will see a Caruso-type defense again this season and the team needs to punish that horse****.
Problem for Randle is that when he finds himself in that scenario, it's not long until the double team comes. He's got to be quicker with this decisions.
Yeah, it's like Clyde said. His first instinct is to try and back down his defender and that's probably the last thing you should do when the double teams are bothering you. Nothing wrong with making the quick pass and resetting.
this is my thought. When a guy like Caruso is on him, he's trying to take away Randle's dribble and get under him a little. Pass it out, quasi- or fully-clear out and pass back in with a better reset. He should be able to catch it, keep it reasonably high and have a nice little turn around. Perhaps they have a more clever play on that but they need to punish those mismatches.
Randle's big problem is when he tries to dribble out of difficult situations. He has a supranatural ability to find and dribble into double or triple teams
Even if he only makes one simple decision -- i.e., pass it out -- it will be better. Make the opponent run around a little bit to rotate, get a little more tired and hopefully disorganized, and then pass it back to him. I like to think this will happen more often as he trusts his teammates to score more
