Julius is awful.

That extension is a joke. Front office has missed so bad this offseason. It’s frightening.

Has to be something going on with Randle from a personal level. I know he acts sort of checked out. Might be a real case of the Yips. He seems afraid to be aggressive offensively. There’s no way him shooting so infrequently and just floating around is part of the gameplan. When does Thibs start to require more ?

Thibs took him out with a minute left, leaving the rest of the starters in. Whatever you're opinion on Randle is, he seems very disconnected from the team right now.

Westbrook

I'm open to a deal for Westbrook... but I would do it to reset the roster and get out of the contracts of Randle, Fournier and Kemba. And a #1 pick - but not because I think Westbrook would change the trajectory much.

We would be able to get rid of one of Fournier and Randle — more likely lakers will want Fournier. They are very familiar with Randle

Randle we might be able to pawn off to OKC in a straight salary dump

In that case I would not support a trade for Westbrook

Westbrook makes a lot more so I would only wish to get rid of the dead weight in a deal for him. Do not want to part with any young talent to take on his contract. Thinking Lakers seem desperate to rid themselves of Westbrook they may go another round with Randle as he could help them (less pressure as the 3rd/4th option). I'd even part with D. Rose if the return was decent as the injuries and age are finally catching up to Rose. Maybe he has 1-2 quality years left at most? Would be right to send him to a team the can compete for a title anyway.

Chemistry is no longer an issue. This is a major character flaw.

This has to be a final straw. What locker room can sustain the illusion?

We did beat the bucks earlier this season and this was a game first 3 quarters. Don’t get me wrong I 100% expected this to be a loss

Ask yourself were they healthy? I remember they were not healthy and the stars that did play recently got back from being injured so they were rusty. Our record is surprisingly bad vs good teams. I know we suck and was still surprised at how bad it was.

I’m just worried we do something stupid and include IQ and Obi in a package for Brunson

Listen, the Mavs just lost THJ to long term injury. Brunson is on fire. If we're going to wrestle Brunson away from them and they ask for Quickly you do it.

With Randle self-immolating on a nightly basis, Obie is the logical successor. He ain't moving.

Agreed. Not sure what’s going on there. The staff is so protective of him. He’s just out of it.

This is the **** that has really pushed me over the edge on Randle. I can get passed the bad shooting this year, the turnovers while we have no Rose and half a Kemba, and ultimately even the losses. But our biggest strength last year was chemistry, and Julius has seemingly given up on that entirely.

We didn't need MVP Randle. We need Big 15 Randle. I don't know how you fit this current shell into your plans.

I saw a very good Milwaukee team beat an inferior knick game. Holiday, Giannis were impressive as hell.
Knicks did not play awful as they did vs. Miami. RJ grinded out a good game. Fornier was good tonite.
Kemba on defense had a few bad moments.

Randle body language is bad.

If Randle cannot get up to play the defending champs and against Giannis on national TV, it's a lose cause. Actions speak louder than words so him saying he still wants to be here is meaningless. He's quit. Monday will be ugly. For his sake I hope he keeps his wife and son at home. He needs to be traded. There is no saving him. He's even worse than he was his first season here. Sacramento would be perfect for him. Small town, little media, no pressure. Randle is not made for the bright lights of NYC.

At this point the smart thing to do would be to just play the kids and get into the lottery. No glory in being in the play-in after being the 4th seed last season. It's actually pretty embarrassing. I would much rather see what Deuce, Reddish and Sims has. Not like playing the vets is going to win more games anyway.

You assume what we receive from Sac would react to the bright lights and pressure better than him?
I understand you think losing with yoot is the same as with vets so at least they get exposure. Or exposed?
What if playing yoot like Fiz did does not aggregate to improved play?

It can't be worse than Randle now. Have you ever seen a player play this poorly and not be engaged or give such little effort?

And what else do you want us to do? Continue to play these underachieving vets and end up with 5 more wins? Might as well let Reddish, Grimes, IQ, Sims and Deuce play and see what we truly have in them. I don't see the upside in continuing to play Kemba, Burks and Taj. Season is over. We are not going to go 16-4. The remaining schedule is brutal.

If kemba can’t draw defenders he is done.
Grimes plays.
IQ plays. Do better he stays in. When off he out. He is also adjust ing to new rules this year. Im a fan.
Burks plays a role and can create were grimes is not there yet. Its problematic to swap them for that reason.
Taj should sit. Im not high on Simms other than his hops.

I hear you. Tell me why? Does team know and thoughts are he plays thru it? I don’t know. Since I don’t, I can’t recommend what to do.

Just want him back

I don't get how he can say this in interviews yesterday with a straight face:

“Same thing, man. I’m going to stick to my guns. I’m going to stick to who I am as a person,” Randle said. “That’s coming in, working every day, trying to be an infectious leader with my spirit and my energy and just try to be positive.”

https://nypost.com/2022/01/28/julius-randle-reiterates-his-knicks-commitment/

I don't get it- its he oblivious to how he is on the court this year?

Elfrid Payton had exactly the same on court presence last year as Randle does this year- especially towards the end, remember he'd just kind of drift about and would stay seated while everyone else was in a coaches huddle.
