ha Washington fans are like, same but with Obi

Do you think Washington fans are creating a thread about Obi?

If Washington had one pick, would they pick Avidja over Toppin right now?

Nice! I'm glad to see this thread still has got some legs. In all honesty it should be changed to "Anyone think we will regret passing on Halliburton for a future 52 and 57 pick and a trade exemption?"

How cool would it be if one of those picks turned into the next Joker?

Man... Was I off about Hali. Burn this thread out of existence.

No regrets on the Knicks picking Obi as a player. Do regret the FO drafting a finesse player for a blue collar coach.

Avidja might be a better fit with what Thibs wants to do. Might be a getable option, as a backup to Randle. Without breaking the bank.

Avidja is 6'9 and 22 years old and has played on **** teams. Tough to say were he ends up or would have been on a different team.
But.......

Still very young and can shoot. If we look back, if he was back to RJ?
He is filling out and perhaps now can play some PF?
If we developed him we don't do Josh Hart?
We still had 6'9 Knox on the roster when we drafted Obi, and there was hope for him then?
See how hard this is to reconstruct regret!
For all we know Knox might turn into a pretty good player after all.
Win some and lose some. For a while we lost by not even drafting. We won picking Mitch thats for damn sure!!!
his evolution has been so impressive!

Looks like this case is closed:
The Portland Trail Blazers traded two first-round picks (including the No. 14 overall pick in the June NBA Draft), two second-round picks and veteran guard Malcolm Brogdon to the Wizards for 23-year-old Deni Avdija, who was the ninth-overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft
Knicks received some used TP and a dried booger for Obi Toppin.

Yeah yeah I know. I just wanted to give this thread proper closure.

They thought he was an Amare clone and they were sending a message to Randle who then had the best season of his career.

Shall we just have a single "draft regrets" topic to accommodate discussions of all the decent players who were picked behind Obi, Knox or Ntilikina? 'Cause the possibilities are numerous.

Yes. Of course we can still turn any thread into a regret one.

Wow. Portland gave up far too much for Avdija. I will say he is better than Toppin but only slightly better. Toppin is a solid bench forward. Avdija is a serviceable starting forward. No way I trade four picks and give up Brogdon for him.

Trust the Process

Price is higher than Obi's deal, but Dani is a better player and younger.

the No. 14 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, a 2029 first-round pick and two future second-round picks. The 2029 pick will be the second-most favorable of the three first-rounders Portland controls. Besides their own pick, the Blazers hold the Celtics’ and Bucks’ first-rounders in ’29.

The two second-rounders will be 2028 and 2030 picks, tweets Josh Robbins of The Athletic. The ’28 second-rounder could be either the Blazers’ own pick or the Warriors’ pick (Portland controls both), while the ’30 second-rounder will be either the Blazers’ own pick or the Knicks’ pick.

The pick this year was Carlton Carrington.

I guess we see how Carrington does and how Dani turns out with Portland.

Deni has more upside as they say. Obi is what he is as they say.

But can we trade Randle?
