I fell asleep and missed most of the 2nd half. But, here's my fan base assessment as we play GM / Coach....why? because it's fun:
If we added all these PF goons, and still getting out rebounded, that's a huge problem. Every team has a 7ft goon....and our goons are 6'9 and under. Portis is 6'11, but he's a finest jump shooting big. Mitch is inexperience and light in the bottom.
If Morris and Randle are playing too much ISO ball, that's a reflection on players not accepting Fitz offensive scheme. Which makes you wonder why Melo always went ISO ball down the stretch. When in doubt, ISO ball is the default offense, until we can find some symmetry on offense.
If Fitz can't figure out which players are going to be key rotation players by this weekend, we are in trouble. All these player lineup changes shakes up confidence and impacts chemistry. Without a go to guy, you need a system that everybody buys into. My worry is the Fitz will have a hard time getting players to buy into his system ALL SEASON.
Seems like this team grow as Mitch and whoever plays PG grows. We need to solidify those 2 key positions, if we want some consistency.
PG - Payton / DSJ
Center - Mitch / Portis
Frank is a swiss army knife and Fitz will use him all over, depending on matchups and flow. DSJ is a scoring guard, who can be a spark on offense. But Fitz needs to put his foot down and put somebody permanent at PG and Center. Let them learn and get their lumps. Then a quarter of the way, see if we need to make any lineup changes.
