Zinger the Ringer! Just needs to get stronger, but will sting teams while he grows. Grant was also impressive, getting to the lane and the line. Played a little out of control at times. Also really liked Ledo and Early. NDour could be a guy, too.

I was interviewed on nbatv after the game. They asked me how I felt about kp!

I'll provide more details after I get home.

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

that was interesting, we have a couple of C's on the roster but they DND with Fisher electing to play Kris at the C. Kris could not get position the entire game and still got 12 points, mostly from the FT line, and altered a bunch of shots. His length is freaking intimidating. I hope we see a bigger line up against the Lakers on Monday.

Was at the met game so i have to watch the replay of the knicks. Happy to hear KP and grant had solid debuts. Granted its only SL but if both can have solid rookie years it will make things interesting for the knicks

I saw it more of a case where they did not get him the ball when he did get in position down low.

I was pretty happy with how he fought for position, and boxed out.

His lateral movement and awareness on D was better than I had been hoping to see.

He was active on offense almost every second of the time he was on the floor- something I'm not used to seeing. Set a lot of high picks...the type of stuff he did with his Spanish team. Made the nice backdoor pass, and another decent one that went for a turnover, I think, although as Clyde pointed out, he should have taken the shot.

Very anxious on that one 3 he took and got fouled on- never should have taken that shot.

I did not see the Triangle being run much.

Not great games by Galloway or Grant as far as setting Porzingis up, but there will be a lot of time for that in the future.

Looks like he belongs in this league.

I think porzingis is gonna be scary good when he develops more and puts some muscle on. He is a rare big man who can move and shoot like a guard. Also he can block a lot of shots with his quickness and height. I just hope he stays healthy

Earlys defense was horrible. We made a run when thanisas and gallo was guarding Anderson and early on the bench. There are no two way players from last years team except Gallo. Either its ledo on offense or the greek on defense....nobody played well on both ends except the rookies. Wear needs to go. I liked the dude in the dreads....over the greek. But both are end of the bench type players or d league players. Calderons value is starting to increase if we dont bring in another pg.

Best guy on the court for both teams hands down was KP the kid has a big body presence and defensively speaking he's really good ... Is he going to take time to adjust to the nba yes ... Will he be starting and have a impact from day one absolutely.. This kid has dirk range and a gasol type game and with weight will be the starting center for years to come ... It's only one game but he's the best prospect I've seen in a knick uniform ... He's going to complement melo and take over as the face he's that good !

Kp feels like the best move since drafting Ewing kids a stud of a player..

The Spurs never drove to the lane with Kp in the game and it was night and day when we took him out... Like I said this kid has presence !

I've been watching a lot of his games from last year in Spain ... This kid really is the best player we've drafted since Ewing ... Tonight was a laid back type of game from him. Kp had games like this last year . I can't wait for us to make him more of a focal point of the offense ..

Getting most of his points from the line is a good thing ... Durant & harden get most of their points from the line..

Good point.Yeah Early's defense did struggle. He looked fine for the first part of the 1st quarter, but kept on getting blown past or looked a little bit absent minded. His improvements to his offense can't be denied though, looks much better handling the ball than he did last year.

The dude in the dreads, Maurice NDour, was terrible. Clumsy hands, terrible defense, poor IQ, and took terrible shots. His shooting imrpoved as the game went on, but he looked like an Acy 2.0 but with worst defense. At least Thanasis brung it on the defensive end. NDour needs to show that he can make smart plays and play defense because that was not a good performance.

Wear is smart, but just didn't show any talent. He needs finish better and actually complete the passes he intends on making.

It is too early to be making a decision on Grant on needing a new PG. It was his FIRST game. His shot was off, but he still manged 12 points on 6 shots and grabbed 5 boards and made some great passes. He said he was not playing like himself out there, so I expect that he has a better game the next day.

Nevertheless, it was just the first day. Let's see what they can do against actual NBA talent against the Lakers on Monday.

I think we need to keep some perspective when looking at these SL games. For one thing some of these kids haven't really had a lot of time to absorb the Triangle. So it only makes sense that they'd only be doing a little of it. No sense making a big deal about that.

Regarding how players look and how many minutes some guys are getting just remember that the Knicks staff is mapping this stuff out so that they can get a better look at some guys and it's not always going to follow our desire to see certain players play in games or see our favorite guys play a certain amount of minutes.

Let's just be glad that over all the key kids looked good for their 1st SL game. Let's hope they get even better as we move along.

nobody was complaining. In fact the majority seem happy with how early KP and grant played

Exactly. The FT line is one of the most efficient shots you can take. High percentage shot and gets the team into foul trouble.

I'm

Just re-watching the game. I really like the first 5+1/2 minutes with the starters. Galloway comes out running the point, but Grant bricks two shots so it looks like Galloway moves over to the two and defers to Grant as point. Nice classy move there by Galloway. The ball movement is nice and triangly with some P-N-R play added in and the young Knicks also looking to push the pace and man up on D. Kris gets some good looks in the process as both guards get him the ball in position to score. Early also makes some nice plays. Good pace, ball movement and D in this entire sequence.

I wasn't talking about KP and Grant and anyone being unhappy with them. I was talking about other players who may not have looked impressive. Also some complained about KP's minutes. I was following the entire thread and there were some comments that expressed displeasure at the things i'm commenting on. I'm just trying to bring some sense of perspective to what is going on. Fish and the Knicks staff are trying to look at different things than we are. Doesn't mean that Fish is lost if he doesn't play a player we want to see enough minutes or at all.

They did look good early on. Especially considering it was the 1st game. Can't wait to see more and see if they can learn from their mistakes.
