Phil has brought in some intriguing guys. I like that he is being creative and resourceful in his search for talent. I don't know if Ledo pans out but giving him a shot makes sense. I do wish they would find away to bring in another guy from the dl to finish the season. There is some talent available.

“Ricky deserves to be in the NBA,’’ Cuban stated in an email to The Post. “He is incredibly talented. Because we are trying to compete for a championship, we really weren’t in a position to give him minutes to help his development. I think with playing time he will get better and better and could be a steal for the Knicks.

Don't mind giving Ledo a chance to show something, but he's done nothing so far that lives up to Cuban's comment.

Hopefully he gets in shape and in sync and he shows something.

Sorry I am a bit out of dated. Did we sign this guy a 2nd 10-day contract?

Isola is a HACK! He's lying in his article when he says the Knicks said it was all about the system and not the players. They never said that and in fact where quite clear that the Triangle was not the cure all. It is a good thing to have a system. Still more important to have players.

Isola is just taking shots cuz the Knicks diss him and his paper. He has a biased take and lacks credibility. I hope the Knicks get the top pick and ball out this summer then see what he writes.

Ricky signed to his 2nd 10 day contract. Good move. The kid needs to be retained and developed for the future.

Nice. He should get some practice time in now as the Knicks have a couple of days off.

Yeah i'm very interested in seeing this kid get some real attention and development. I want to see if he can get on a pro level conditioning program and to work on his game to fix flaws and add skills. He's got a good enough talent base to start with and just needs to keep honing his skills and knowledge. I think people are too impatient with young talent like this kid. We have to start the process of long term development as well as guys who just have it already.

Not the prettiest assessment here, but that's been the case from the start, some like him, some don't. I thought Jordan was in Ledo's face first, second time I've seen this complaint about Ledo, I didn't see that game, but I thought Jordan was the trash talker. I think Ledo is here through the Summer anyway. Anyway this article is from Joe Flynn of SB Nation:

http://www.postingandtoasting.com/2015/3/29/8308817/the-knicks-signed-ricky-ledo-to-a-second-10-day-contract

"Are you ready for an encore performance of the Ricky Ledo 10-Day Contract Extravaganza? No? Well, too damn bad!

The former McDonald's All-American averaged 7.2 points on 35.9% shooting (35.7% from three), 2.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.4 steals and a redonkulous 2.6 turnovers in his first 10 days. He's helping the team from beyond the arc and hurting them in almost every other way imaginable:

He's shooting 71.4% from within three feet (nice!), but 36.0% overall on two-pointers (not nice!).
He never passes the ball, yet turns it over constantly.
The Knicks are allowing 125.4 points per 100 possessions with him on the court.
He's surly as hell and starts beefs with the likes of DeAndre Jordan.
Here's a fun fact: Ledo ranks in the bottom 10 in Basketball-Reference's WS/48 metric for anybody who has played even a single NBA minute this season:

I really enjoy the names on this list. Seth Curry, Zoran Dragic and David Stockton? The spirit of Chris Smith lives on!

While there's nothing wrong with giving Ledo all the minutes for the remainder of the season, it's looking less and less likely that the Knicks have discovered the potential steal described by Mark Cuban. Ledo has talent, but he hasn't shown nearly enough to hold out much hope.

But, hey, if you wanna join up with the Knicks' Summer League team, Ricky, I'm sure something can be arranged."

MEH! I think people are just too darned quick to render a final judgement on young players. This is likely the longest stretch of time he's played against top NBA teams. It's not like he's been facing a bunch of high school teams in this short stint so far. After just 5 games we close the book on this kid? Sounds kind of stupid to me. I wanna see how he does after a full summer of development and Pro Level conditioning, plus a full training camp. There's no penalty for keeping a prospect like him in your program. It's not like we're loaded with talent on the team and in the D League. I say he's kept around and given a 2nd look this summer.

Good move bringing this kid back. Not ready to give up on him yet. We need to find out some more, find out if he can help us next yr..I wish the deal was the same as Galloway's -- the rest of the year with a partial guarantee for next season. That would've given us optimum flexibility with him. No biggie I guess--what we did was the next best thing. Let's assess him the rest of the year now and hopefully we bring him back for SL and beyond if he proves himself. He's a big, young talented guard that has potential. I'm glad we stuck with him.

From the Post. And I agree, some actually seem to WANT to write him off immediately. Damn, he's got 3 games under his NBA belt. I think Jackson and the staff know better then the sarcastic pundents.
--------------------------
“Rick the Quick’’ is coming back. Ricky Ledo was signed to a second 10-day contract as Phil Jackson wants to take more of a look.
Ledo, the 6-foot-7 shooting guard formerly of the Mavericks, averaged 7.2 points and 2.2 rebounds over 18.5 minutes in five games. He’s played 92 minutes — already doubling the 44-minute total he had in two seasons with the Mavericks. Ledo’s seven-turnover night Wednesday against the Clippers didn’t cost him. One scout said he’s terrific at getting to the basket but needs to finish better in traffic. Fisher said he’s most concerned with Ledo’s defense.
“I’ve definitely taken advantage and did the best I could do,’’ Ledo said. “The last three games have been real NBA games for me for the first time ever. I’m trying to build on that. The nerves are out and I’m getting more comfortable with the offense.”

I've seen some aspects of his game that are really good. He has the right combination of size, handles, quickness and skill. I think he's been getting a crash course in real NBA level defense and the speed of the league. Offensive players are faster and more skilled and on D they won't just let him get all the way to the basket like in the D League. The windows close faster in the NBA. So IMO his early struggles mean nothing to me in terms of what he can still become. All players have to make the adjustment to the higher level of play in the NBA. He just got thrown into this with very little prior experience.

I also want to see what he'll look like after a summer of real training on his skills and conditioning at an NBA level. I hope he gets with some of the other guys on the team and works out this summer.

Ledo with good moments tonight. He's making some progress. I really would love to see this kid get on a Pro level conditioning program. He needs more explosion from his legs. He seems like he's wearing weights on his ankles. He has some really useful skills and the right size Phil likes. If he can keep up his progress it would be another really nice positive development for next year. Rather than look down on his game, we have to remember that he's practically a rookie. He's young and still in need of development, but you can see some of the overall skills and talent he has.

He looked much better tonight. Practice and game minutes appear to be helping. His shot looks much better as does his passing.
