Hopefully Dolan doesnt follow the same pattern that has wrecked teams in the past. Rajon Rondo is broken and Danny Ainge is smarter than anyone in the KNicks organization.
If Ainge sold Rondo to get younger--we should follow that lead and stay far away. He has done nothing for Dallas.

I think because of the lack of patience of Phil, Dolan, Melo and the lack of quality players available due to RFA and the trade deadline moves of guys like Dragic, yes, the Knicks will overpay for a name. I think Rondo is one such name they may overpay for, particularly because Melo wants to play with him. I think Greg Monroe is the other one they may overpay, which I feel would be a big mistake and take us right to the no man's land of 35 winsville aka Dolan Town.

The Knicks simply overpay for whatever they buy. Dolan thinks toilet paper costs $5 a roll because that's what the grocery store that delivers to his house bills him for.

The nature of Free Agency is to pay players more than they currently make so you're going to usually spend money for a proven commodity. As for what Phil will do that largely depends on who we draft. Big or Small will change the guys we target. We'll just have to see where we end up in the lottery before we can really guess a set of targets. Phil said he's more likely to not go after the big names but we shall see what the draft dictates.
