Towns played great tonight.

19 points (6-10)
8 rebounds
4 assists
2 blocks
7-7 FT's

this kid has such a sweet shooting touch and is such an excellent passer for a freshman big.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

He looked great against my undersized Gators. It sucked not having Frazier and the refs totally blew a call late when they called a travel as Horford was dribbling instead of a foul on Towns. Puke.

Towns is like a bigger Derrick Favors with way more offensive game and arguably more defense too. I am not comparing him to A. Davis but he is starting to turn the corner like Davis did in the middle of his freshman year.

I don't see the favors one at all.

ADavis has a nice touch too for a big so I can see the similarity. Towns has long way to go on defense to be close to ADavis

Towns is so smooth on the FT line he was all middle of the net. How about a bit like Bosh?

Towns is such a smart player and passes so well for such a young guy.

Drafting Ok4 over him would be a disaster.

Unfortunately, it will be hard to get Towns based on our chances of winning the lotto.

It's why your posting gets less and less attention. Knicks have the second worst record in the league.

No, I think that Towns will rise to number 1. Our chances of getting the first pick if we had the worst record is 25%ish and a 46% chance of getting top 2.

If we were the 2nd worst team then we have 39 percent chance to get top 2.

3 rorst, 31%.

So, if we are hoping for towns, is it not safe to say the chances are that we won't get him? Even if he end up with the second worst record?

Great. You've narrowed down your thinking to: Towns is going #1, if we don't have the #1 we probably won't get it. In spite of the fact that the Knicks currently have the second best chance and the #1 slot statistically doesn't gets the #1 pick and Towns is not the consensus #1 pick. This is not Duncan or LeBron we are talking about.

That is not my though process at all!

Chances of getting a top two pick if you have a bottom 3 record is at best (worst record) 46 percent. If towns goes 1 or 2, chances are we will not get him.

Finishing with the second worst record, we have a 55% chance of even getting a top 3 pick!! (hardly good odds).

Very good chance that Philly (1 back) moves past us and we are down to a 47% chance of top 3.

So for me who and many of us who really want towns, with his rising stock, I don't like our chances. And, its barely a coin flip if we even get a top 3.

Nearly every draft has OK4, Mudiay and now Russell over Towns. Plus there's no way the Sixers will take Towns, so if they pick before us, he'd be safe from their clutches.

I don't think OK4 is the best player on his team. If this continues, he might drop. Towns will get picked early, due to size, versatility and Anthony Davis instant success.

With his all around game and feel, he reminds me of Al Horford.

Russell has as much boom potential from the guard position with less bust potential.

I won't be made if we wind up with pick 2 or : and drsft OK4 but I'm definitely leaning towards Towns. I think he is going to explode as the NCAA tournament nears. So let's keep tanking hard and see if we can kick out for once

If you knew that OK4 was gonna wind up being Al Jefferson, would you be happy? HELL NO!

Depends how the other guys pan out.

If Russell looks like the next Stephen Curry/Westbrook than Al Jefferson would be a disappointment but Al Jefferson on a rookie deal will still help the Knicks.

This is why there is more upside in drafting Towns and maybe even Russell over Ok4.

Mudiay might be a great player but he is a huge gamble whereas those guys are safe picks

I think people need to stop comparing college players to players already in the NBA because there's absolutely no way of saying who a 19/20 year old kid will play like in 3/4 years down the road. It really depends on how much work the kid puts in at the next level that will say how good he'll be in a few years. You have some kids that go to the NBA and now that they've been paid they're happy putting in the minimal amount of work that they need to so they can stay an NBA player and then there's the kids that want to keep getting better every day and put the work in to do that. We have no idea if Okafor will be A.Jefferson or T.Duncan or if Towns will be T.Duncan or T.Chandler and so on with the rest of the kids.

Horford was smaller and was not this advance. He also did not block as many shots as many shots as Towns. I can see the comparison though. If Horford had a pure release they would look even more similar. I also think Towns is a more fluid athlete although Horford coordination was top notch.

Like Horford though, I think he is a 4 that could play his entire career at 5. Towns will grow even more probably and add 10-20 lbs to his frame. Plus, his release will help him extend his game to the 3pt line.

Towns is more Horford than Favors or Davis but no perfect comparison.

That's because Towns can do it all. Thats why its so hard to compare him to a current nba player. Stat sheet stuffer.

A mix of Davis, Bynum, Horford, Noah & Brad Miller. Defense, blocks, post, long range shooting & great playmarker/passer

Kentucky is on tonight @ 7PM. Towns is doing what I had hoped for producing with more minutes. Hopefully his trend continues. If he keeps up or expands his play--I could see the board flip flop and move Okafor to pick #3 Russell #2 and Towns #1.
